Northrop Grumman Missions Systems sector is seeking an experience software developer for highly competitive Hardware Engineer roles within our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The Northrop Grumman REDHAWK Center of Excellence is looking for a deputy program manager and hardware engineer. This position will be responsible for the day to day operation of a mix of skills and seniority levels, directly reporting to the USG customer. The candidate will have to primarily focus on achieving customer satisfaction in a dynamic environment where progress on background tasks are required, but day to day priorities change. The candidate will be responsible for not only developing SME status on several USG software defined radios, leading a design team of embedded software and hardware engineers, but identifying when the customer needs skills that are outside the core COE team, and then work with functional and program management to borrow the SME for the duration of the task.
This job requires not only being able to digital design tasks, but being able to develop training material for third party users of embedded platforms, and lead a team to develop and deliver the training
Roles and Responsibilities:
Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs hardware and software
Primarily focus on achieving customer satisfaction in a dynamic environment where progress on background tasks are required, but day to day priorities change.
Responsible for not only developing SME status on several USG software defined radios, leading a design team of embedded software and hardware engineers,
Identifying when the customer needs skills that are outside the core COE team, and then work with functional and program management to borrow the SME for the duration of the task
9 Years with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD
Experience with FPGA design in ISE and Vivado, using VHDL, system generator
Experience with Board design and debug
Expert capabilities in debugging embedded system issues, even if you've never seen the platform or the application before.
Test equipment specification, and use of TCL and python to control test equipment
Scripting for FPGA builds
Big system simulation experience from standalone VHDL through UVM and Jenkins
Demonstrated ability to design documentation for 3 rd party users (writing sample required)
Experience moving software from servers to smaller form factor embedded systems.
Embedded platform software development, including Embedded ARM processors in the Xilinx family of FPGAs.
Code architecture and optimization for performance in embedded processors and systems
Interfacing between processors and hardware in the system through register interfaces, messaging stacks and direct processor-fabric interfaces.
Processor FPGA and Processor-GPU APIs
Debugging and application delivery in embedded systems
Software Defined Radio platform experience
Master's Degree or higher
Current SCI clearance, CI minimum, Full Scope preferred
Some familiarity with REDHAWK and/or TOA
Willing to travel once a month (on average) to support customer meetings
Listen to the customer, and partner with them to achieve success
Represent the customer needs and goals to other NG and third party teams
Highly organized to work remotely from the customer and the rest of the team
Demonstrated experience to influence NG and other organizations without direct face to face contact
