We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Logistics Operations Manager (2nd Shift) in Morton, IL.

The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. Job Summary:

This Logistics Operations Manager (2nd Shift) oversees 3 different areas: Yard, Specialized, and Autostore. This role is a leader of leaders, in addition to an hourly workforce, who develops, oversees, and strives to maximize the efficiency of the transportation network necessary to provide end-to-end supply chains.

Additional Info :

• This role is located in Morton, IL and does not offer relocation

• This role is 2nd Shift : Monday-Friday 3pm-11pm

• This role is 100% on-site with no opportunity for hybrid or remote schedules

What You Will Do:

• Analyzing and developing logistics plans that affect production, distribution, and inventory specific to area of responsibility.

• Overseeing carrier selection and renewals. Participating in contract negotiations and interfacing with selected carriers necessary to maintain expected levels of service.

• Improving logistics processes through process improvement, prioritization, and project planning.

• Developing and maintaining cost estimates, forecasts, and cost models. Tracking costs and savings for all transportation modes.

What You Have (Required Skills):

• Relationship Management : Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

• Supplier Management - MFG: Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), experience and skills into real practice.

• Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills):

• Knowledge of EWM (Extended Warehouse Management)

• Prior experience in Distribution or Logistics

• Bachelor’s degree
