We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Logistics Planning Analyst in Morton, IL.

The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

Job Summary:

This Logistics Planning Analyst position provides day-to-day technical and administrative support for supply chain management activities. Provides coaching to the team as well as interacts with multi-functional resources, including business division supply chain planning, site global purchasing, operations, receiving, Global Transportation, Demand and Orders, Material Requirements Planning and Logistics.

Additional Info :

  • This position is located in Morton, IL and does not offer relocation.

  • Up to 10% domestic travel

  • Our team embraces flexibility through a hybrid work model. In addition to working onsite at one of our PSLD facilities, our hybrid work model allows employees flexibility to work from home based on business need

What You Will Do:

  • Assisting in communicating with procurement, material planning, inventory, distribution to minimize cost and improve efficiency.

  • Providing technical support and assistance on supply chain management.

  • Inputting data into supply chain application system; maintaining the system on a regular basis.

  • Collecting, analyzing, and reporting data on supply chain operation.

  • This position provides coaching to the team as well as interacts with multi-functional resources, including business division supply chain planning, site global purchasing, operations, receiving, Global Transportation, Demand and Orders, Material Requirements Planning and Logistics.

What You Have (Basic Skills Required):

  • Knowledge of Material Replenishment Collaboration (MRC) systems

  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.

  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills)

  • Inventory Management: Knowledge of processes and methods of inventory management; ability to effectively manage organization's materials, commodities, merchandises, or products.

  • Logistics Management: Knowledge of the processes, tools and operational considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and materials; ability to understand, predict and control the movement of goods, materials and supplies.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Supply Chain, Business administration or related field
