The Americas Returns team is on a journey to transition our system and processes to increase efficiency and dealer experience. We are looking for a highly motivated Team lead who is eager to embark on this journey. This will be a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise to further develop your leadership skills, change management skills and strategic and visionary thinking.

As a Supply Chain Planning Engineer and Team Lead at Caterpillar, you will be responsible for managing processes ensuring high level of efficiency and performance for Dealer Returns. This role will also be responsible for project implementation and change management that accompanies a system conversion.

Job duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct root cause data analysis and propose proactive improvements

  • Own Returns KPI’s and inspire individual team members to attain goals

  • Own and manage KPI’s associated with Dealer inquiries via Salesforce Cases

  • Evaluate team task assignments and rotation of tasks

  • Request tools, reports and beneficial system changes based on deep dives into existing systems and data

  • Provide periodic management updates

  • Work with and influence multiple process partners including Transportation, IT, Operations, Policy, Inventory Management and Business Resources

  • Function as the Lead Trainer for SPM Returns. Create training tools, schedules and innovative mechanisms for training

  • Responsible for SOX testing and ensuring that the team is aligned with governance and compliance rules

  • Ability to work with a diverse global team and ability to flex hours occasionally to meet with process partners

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required. In lieu of a degree,an additional 2 years of experience insupply chain or logistics are required.

  • 4+ years of experience in supply chain or logistics

  • Experience providing customer training

  • Previous experience leading a team

  • Proven Data Analysis capability

  • Utilize professional project management, 6Sigma, and lean techniques to manage reporting, checklists, presentations, and project timing, as well as delegate appropriately

  • Excellent PC skills (Microsoft Word and Excel or equivalent)

  • Strong leadership skills to work with people from many different backgrounds, cultures and levels within the organization

  • Strong communication and Change Management skills

  • Previous experience managing projects

  • Excellent time management, organization and prioritization skills allowing for multiple requests be managed at a time

This position requires no more than 15% travel
