Caterpillar’s Electrification & Energy Solutions (E+ES) Division will focus on delivering advanced electrified power train, zero-emissions products/technologies, and the solutions and services associated with these technologies. E+ES’ areas of focus include batteries, fuel cells, motors, inverters, micro grid controllers, charging, energy storage systems, lifecycle solutions/services and integration of components for ePowertrain solutions across industries. This role will have a specific focus on the procurement of material to support the production of battery packs for battery electric machines.

Job Summary:
The Materials Requirement Planning Manager works within the E&ESD (Electrification and Energy Solutions Division). This position has accountability across both supply chain planning and execution. Incumbent ensures effective control of material requirements to provide material for fulfillment of the facility production schedule and ensure POU availability.
Job Duties and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Responsible for developing and executing the materials requirement strategy for Caterpillar’s E+ES division.
To accomplish this task, coordination is required between internal and external process partners.
This job requires an understanding and focus on all elements of the supply chain upstream and downstream that will impact Cat’s ability to deliver product on time.
Specific focus on production schedule alignment, procurement, NPI programs, material effectivity dates, and distribution of material is essential.
This position is accountable to ensuring material is available so that product can be built on time and delivered to our customers per Cat’s commitments.
Material availability is crucial to Caterpillar’s development of technology through NTI and NPI programs, supply chain resiliency, and execution of the production build schedule.
Basic Requirements:
College or university degree related to Supply Chain, or equivalent experience, is required.
Strong knowledge of production scheduling and capacity management.
Ability to use and troubleshoot MRP and related systems.
Previous experience providing direct material / scheduling support to a manufacturing facility’s build process.
Previous experience / exposure to a “Clean to Build” process.
Knowledge and/or experience in material planning / control, purchasing, parts distribution, inventory control, manufacturing operations and supply chain highly desired.
Knowledge and understanding of 6 Sigma project management principles.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
Excellent teamwork and leadership skills.
Top Candidates May Have:
Minimum of five years of supply chain or related experience.
Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification highly desired.
