As a Senior Engineering Project Team Lead, you will lead global, cross-functional teams to develop, deliver, and maintain technology products for surface mining applications. You will be accountable for planning and coordinating the execution of the technical workstream supporting the NPI process, and supplying technical support for the sales and delivery of products. You will be responsible for planning and leading product maintenance activities, defining product requirements, defining product strategies, and learning and staying abreast of innovative technologies while mentoring and coaching Enterprise team members. This role will require regular interactions and communications with external customers and suppliers. You will serve as a technical interface between multi-disciplinary teams.

What you will do:

  • Facilitate the technical delivery of the product and solutions across cross-functional teams.

  • Collaborating with business partners to define products requirements.

  • Participate in the construction of backlogs and roadmaps aligned to the strategic goals of the organization.

  • Participate in priority management, product planning, and release management processes.

  • Participate in the performance and usage monitoring of delivered products and solutions.

  • Assist in the management of product integration and coordination of multiple systems.

  • Facilitate innovation through the coordination of discovery processes.

The team leader will interact with people from diverse technical and cultural backgrounds. The incumbent will take responsibility for their development, continuously learning through experience, professional engagements, and career opportunities. The incumbent will gain an understanding of the customers’ needs and application of the product or process, as well as keeping up with technology.

What Skills you will have:

Products and Services: Extensive experience with mining and/or technology products.

Technical Excellence : Experience with guidance and control products, and/or machine automation. Previous team leadership experience. Strong communication and organizational skills.

Influencing Through Expertise: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to use these to deepen own expertise and impact or challenge decisions within and outside own organization.

Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.

Team Management: Knowledge of effective team building techniques; ability to form and manage effective teams.

Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze, and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.

Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools, and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect, and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing environment.

Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.

Education and Experience Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.

Top Candidates will also have:

Experience with Underground Mining Technology

Experience with large enterprise solutions applications.

Experience with Cloud computing solutions.

Experience with requirements management in systems design.

Experience in Caterpillar’s NPI process

Additional Information:

The primary location for this position is Mossville, IL.

Domestic relocation assistance is available.

This position may require 10 – 25 % travel
