Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to join the Engineering Support Services (ESS) project providing critical systems engineering, integration, and testing support for the United States Navy's AEGIS Weapon System. AEGIS is the premiere computer suite for detecting & tracking, directing sensors, and putting weapons on target! The candidate will join the Test and Evaluation Task to support a diverse team of engineers, technologists, and veterans working to perfect a complex computer system vital to the Navy and their partners. This position will be located in Mount Laurel, NJ where Technology and Teamwork come together!
The candidate s primary role will provide engineering and technical support to the T&E Division head at AEGIS TECHREP in Moorestown, NJ. Candidate will join with an (USN / contractor) integrated team dedicated to providing independent quality assessments of manufacturer s developmental computer programs on behalf of the U.S. Navy. The testing will be primarily focused upon the AEGIS Weapon System, related derivatives, and select support tools as they relate to the combat system environment. The candidate with the support of the team will prepare and instigate complex formal test packages that cover the full range of the systems level integration effort.
Candidate must be able to interpret AEGIS system level specifications into testable requirements at the complex level. Candidate will mentor Baseline Test Coordinators and Test Directors to ensure they can prepare the test approach and detailed procedures to test those requirements, validate the detailed test methods, execute the formal test, and collect relevant test data. Candidate will also provide T&E and SE Divisions with subject matter expertise on refining digital engineering tools used to track and manage defects across AEGIS and SSDS programs.
Secondary roles include review of technical specifications and related documents for accuracy and applicability, witnessing and assessment of tests conducted by the program developer and / or other Government agencies. Candidate will be expected to maintain existing expertise and work with the team to develop additional Subject Matter Expertise to assist management in maintaining a fully matrixed and integrated test team.
Candidate must possess excellent oral and written skills and be able to work independently when required. Candidate will guide lower level employees. Candidate tasking may include coordinating inputs for customer budgets. Generally, work hours are standard, but some second and / or third shift hours will be required. Little or no travel is expected, but willingness to travel in support of emergent customer needs is required.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
8 years related work experience and a High School Diploma // 6 years related work experience and Associates Degree // 4 years related work experience and a Bachelor s degree with a preference given to the Engineering, Computer Sciences, Mathematics, or General Science - Scientific Method disciplines.
U. S. Citizen / Either holds or would easily qualify for an active DOD security clearance.
Excellent oral and written skills are required
Must be able to work independently when necessary
Must possess a U.S. Citizenship and be eligible for a SECRET security clearance through the Department of Defense

Test and Evaluation familiarity
Experience and / or recent qualifications directly related to complex systems integration testing of computer programs or software development efforts.
US Navy / AEGIS experience / Teams skills
Technical Writing familiarity
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $92290 - $156860
