Lockheed Martin Software Engineering Associate Manager in Mount Laurel, New Jersey

Description: The successful candidate will assume a Fist Level Manager (FLM) position reporting directly to the Senior Manager of the Readiness Products department in the Combat Systems Integrated Engineering organization. They will be responsible for managing the design and development of products within the Readiness product line. They will be responsible for the technical, cost, and schedule execution of development activities for a number of simultaneous program milestones and objectives. They will provide the leadership necessary to pro-actively identify and resolve issues that may impact the ability to achieve Mission Success. The individual will be engaged in overseeing program development activities across the full development life cycle, ensuring the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools are applied.

People: As a First line Manager (leader), they will be responsible for personnel management of a team of approximately 15 engineers. They will be responsible for the oversight of team member technical contributions, including resolution of resource conflicts on executing projects. As a First Line Leader, they will be responsible for fostering employee engagement and professional development. Additionally, they will be responsible for the cultivation of talent thru support of new employee hiring/recruiting activities. They will be responsible for performance assessment, career development & guidance, work assignments, merit and salary actions, training plans, staffing and recruiting.

Customer / Growth: Duties also include monitoring technical performance, evaluating individual and team performance, controlling budgets and schedules in support of customer objectives, generating cost estimates for work to be performed, providing status to the center’s senior management and engineering program managers, and supporting center and business level initiatives. They will also be responsible for advancing Digital Transformation objectives and ensure Technology and practices are consistently applied in support of our DevSecOps strategic initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field

- Strong and proven understanding of the software engineering development process

- Cost account manager (CAM) experience and EVM experience or similar financial oversight

- Cost estimation, proposal and/or capture experience

- Demonstrated project leadership experience

- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Desired Skills:

- Proven leadership experience in the architecture, design, requirements, implementation, integration of weapon systems

- In-depth understanding of system engineering processes and/or development processes

- Knowledge of Aegis BMD, Domestic and Foreign baselines and missions

- Demonstrated experience leading diverse engineering teams

- Experience with developing and advancing DevSecOps tools, technologies, and processes

- Knowledge and experience with resource and staffing requirements

- Demonstrated experience effectively communicating (verbal, written and presentation) with various employee levels, senior management, internal stakeholders and external customers
