Quality & Food Safety Manager - Mt Vernon, IN

This is an exempt level position.

Job Summary:

The Quality and Food Safety Manager is responsible for providing quality and food safety support and leadership within the ADM Milling Division, and more specifically, throughout his/her facility.

This position reports to the Regional QFS Manager for the region in which the facility resides.

Job Functions:

  • Support various systems that are used throughout the facility

  • ADM Weigh, APecS, Sphera, PolicyTech, TLC

  • FDA/BRC/ Organic/Gluten Free/Customer Audits

  • Provides auditing support

  • Performs annual tasks as needed for compliance

  • Production Support

  • Interacts with ADM Quality Center of Excellence and Food Safety personnel to ensure compliance and continuous improvement

  • Develop and implement QFS requirements for Human Food and Animal Food, when applicable

  • Monitor the quality and safety of incoming ingredients and manufactured products

  • Run prerequisite programs that support the Quality Management System

  • Assist with IRM score improvements

  • Actively participate in employee development

  • Build, support and facilitate training

  • Assists with internal auditing

  • Developing Processes

  • Coordinates and implements Cost of Poor Quality

  • Assists with the IA (Intentional Adulteration) FSMA implementation- Food Defense Vulnerability Assessment

  • Leads all aspects of non-conformity investigations; assures root cause analysis and review is conducted

  • Supervisor and Lead Others

  • Manage Quality Control team and ensure analytical programs provide adequate support to operations and accurate results to customers

  • Effectively lead all facility colleagues to establish understanding of food safety and quality standards and drive improvement in food safety culture

Job Qualifications

  • Preferred 4 year degree or equivalent 7 years Food Safety experience

  • Preventative Control Qualified Individual (PCQI) trained

  • Solid understanding of Document Management (PolicyTech), spreadsheets, and databases

  • Knowledge of applicable food regulations and requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel

  • Must be organized, possess time management skills and be able to meet time restraints

  • Ability to make decisions based on information and data available

  • Ability to work as a team member and provide training

  • Demonstrate experience of effective leadership

Working Conditions
