The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a(n) Billing Specialist - Customer Service Representative, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Providing billing services and account reconciliation support for 3M customers and 3M internal personnel

  • Handling internal and external customer inquiries, claims, complaints; interpreting policies, investigating problems; and communicating with other departments and providers to research and resolve issues, identifying and implementing service solutions

  • Participating in relevant corporate programs/initiatives

  • Ensuring professional, quality and security standards are complied with while performing assigned duties

  • Complying with corporate policies and procedures while acting in a manner consistent with 3M’s values and ethical standards

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university AND a minimum of two (2) years equivalent billing experience (including course work / internships)

-OR-

  • High School Diploma/GED or higher and a minimum of six (6) years of customer service experience

  • Two (2) years’ experience using Microsoft Office products

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Billing and/or accounting related work experience.

  • Ability to work in a high volume, rapidly changing environment

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to stay focused on tasks, handle multiple priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines

  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate to resolve issues and identify process improvements

  • Ability to resolve conflicts effectively and take the initiative to resolve issues before they become problems

  • Attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent oral and written communication

  • Good interpersonal skills; effective communication and listening skills

Travel: May include up to <5% travel

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
