Please Note this position supports our 2nd Shift. You will be paid a 10% Pay Premium while working the 2nd Shift.

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

The Microwave Process Engineer will have manufacturing engineering local leadership within one of our microelectronics manufacturing cells. Our 2nd shift employs a full factory from supply chain, supervisors, quality engineering and touch personnel. This process engineering team member will coordinate with the various functions to help support front line issues while driving continuous improvement activity for further cost reduction in the factory. There are experienced process engineers and this role will have appropriate mentorship to help establish confidence, leadership and ownership in the individual to help support a long term career growth.

The team member will support our pick and place cell and responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the development, sustainment, and improvement of the processes via both automated and manual machinery throughout the pick and place and automated optical inspection cell.

  • Nonconforming material review

  • FAI support

  • Design of custom fixtures for supporting factory-wide initiatives

  • Day to day execution of production goals.

This process engineering job will effectively support a group of 5-10 cross-functional employees and will be empowered to help with various decisions that improve the overall success of the microelectronics factory (yield improvements, cost take out, delivery improvements).

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • B.S. in Engineering (all types considered, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial preferred) and 1-2 years of experience, or 3-4 years of experience in lieu of a degree

  • Manufacturing experience with equipment support

  • Ability to understand, analyze, and resolve complex technical problems

  • Effective communication to peers, management, and customers (cross shift, written/Power Point, can be various levels of audiences)

  • Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision and demonstrate leadership necessary to support the manufacturing team

  • Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Manufacturing experience including working within standard operating procedures and quality management system requirements

  • Experience with python, matlab, or other programing software

  • Lean knowledge (single piece vs batch processing) preferred

  • Six Sigma training or projects preferred

  • Experience with multiparametric analysis such as multivariate DOEs

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $77809 - $132275

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
