The Advanced Compact EW Solutions (ACES) team is looking for aManufacturing Process Engineerto support multiple advanced electronics factories.
As a Manufacturing Engineer you will make impacts in the following ways:
Recommend and implement process improvements, lean manufacturing techniques and process flows to execute both production and development programs within the Operations organization.
Support the development and deployment of statistical quality control and process control tools throughout the factory across multiple product lines.
Assist in creating training development plans for both technical operations personnel as well as technicians on the production floor, working closely with production leads and supervisors to establish robust, documented training requirements.
Support factory technical leadership, including technical assessments, new or existing manufacturing equipment installs/relocation, value stream mapping/simulations, facilitation/space planning.
Day to day support of the production floor, driving defect reduction, root cause activities, and daily interaction with technicians and operators.
Able to understand customer requirements and help ensure deliverables meet cost and schedule requirements.
Support Preliminary Material Review/Material Review Board (PMR/MRB) for the disposition of discrepant material and determination of root cause/corrective action. Ensure timely disposition of discrepant materials.
Forecasts capital equipment requirements based on the evaluation of industry trends and manufacturing conditions.
Support the transition of designs to the manufacturing floor and provide sustaining support for transitioned product. Ensure design compliance with standards and procedures to provide a consistent manufacturing process.
Provide guidance and leadership to technicians and support personnel.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline and 2 years relevant work experience.
Relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Experience in a defense or aerospace manufacturing environment.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
Experience with final assembly/box builds.
Knowledge of statistical process controls and Minitab.
Electronic manufacturing software experience such as Oracle, TipQA, Solumina and/or PAperless MES.
Root cause and corrective action methodology knowledge and experience.
Familiar with IPC-A-610/J-STD-001 requirements.
Process automation experience including robotics, vision systems, and PLCs. Experience supporting automated assembly and test equipment in a production environment.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $73370 - $124740
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
