BAE Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer at our site in Nashua, NH to support quality practices and surveillance directly on the production floor. The role will supervise the factory quality inspection team and routinely collaborate with the Operations and Process Engineering teams to meet product quality requirements, reduce rework and scrap, and drive continuous improvement.
In this role, you will:
Provide quality control support to the manufacturing value stream, with a focus on the inspection operations
Monitor and provide input to process documentation and inspection plans
Collaborate with Program Quality team to execute Quality Plan in the factory in accordance with customer requirements
Reinforce compliance to the AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS) by supporting audits and continuous improvement efforts
Execute First Article Inspection (FAI) in accordance with QMS and AS9102, with report preparation and data collection support
Disposition nonconforming material and pursue corrective action for supplier related issues with Supplier Quality where needed
Support factory quality metrics reviews
Facilitate root cause/corrective action (RCCA) process associated with manufacturing issues
Collaborate with Process Engineering on the implementation of product and process control methods such as SPC and associated reaction plans
Supervise the factory inspection team and coordinate coverage and training activities to facilitate production workflow
Utilize various quality science tools for problem solving and data analysis

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's degree and 6 years of experience or 10 years of experience in lieu of degree
Experience supporting a manufacturing environment
Experience in a quality assurance role
Proficiency in root cause/corrective action (RCCA/CAPA/8D) and problem solving using various quality science tools such as Ishikawa diagrams, control charts, failure mode and effects analysis, etc.
Ability to read and interpret technical data packages, engineering drawings, bill of materials, component specifications, standards, and process sheets
Experience as a direct supervisor for inspection or technician personnel, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Ability to extract data/information for presentations and reports to effectively communicate issues and drive actions
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Technical field
Experience with the FAI process and the associated documentation requirements per AS9102
Identification, control, and disposition of discrepant material through Preliminary Material Review (PMR) and/or Material Review Board (MRB)
Experience with AS9100 Quality Management Systems auditing procedures and continuous improvement activities
Understanding of engineering drawing dimensions and tolerances (ANSI 14.5 GD&T)
Experience with AS9145 and associated Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) elements
Knowledge of and experience with electronics manufacturing in accordance with IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001
Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $115779 - $196825
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
