Job Description

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

The individual selected for this position will provide engineering support to the Microwave Factory on a variety of products including DEWS/QATAR, EPAWSS, 56C, F22, and LRASM. Seeking an experienced engineer with a background in materials science to oversee the hermetic laser welding process. The ideal candidate will have experience controlling welding or casting processes, with specific experience with aluminum, titanium, and kovar.

The candidate will be responsible for:

  • Working with other engineers and technicians to create and maintain accurate process documentation

  • Establishing statistical process controls for critical manufacturing equipment.

  • Troubleshooting defect root cause as problems arise.

  • Coordinating preventative maintenance with vendors.

  • Evaluating new equipment, coordinating potential requests for capital equipment and calculating return on investment.

  • Working with operations industrial engineers to optimize the product stream capacity and plan for growth.

  • Developing best practices and innovative solutions to improve production throughput and reduce defects and cost of poor quality.

  • Work in a fast-paced environment, handling shifting priorities and working within cost and time constraints.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Knowledgeable of process related standards, MIL-STD-883, MIL-PRF-38534, ad MIL-STL-5541 as examples.

  • Experienced in AutoCAD and/or 3D modelling.

  • A self-starter with the ability to think analytically and work with limited instruction.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $92290 - $156860

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
