JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for leading the work with human resource associates on recruitment, total compensation, associate relations, and training and development. The DHR - Administration and Strategy executes objectives as outlined in the Human Resource Business Plan while delivering services that meet or exceed the needs of associates and enables business success. This associate verifies compliance with applicable laws and regulations and Standard Operating Procedures. This position supports the Director of Human Resources through day-to-day support of Human Resources endeavors for multiple locations. The role manages the Human Resources Business Partners to include all Associate Relations, Investigations, Business Integrity Lines and Guarantee of Fair Treatment Investigations, engagement strategy, payroll, and compliance auditing, hiring, and training and development. This position has accountability for strategy and execution and autonomous decision-making in the absence of the Director of Human Resources.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

• 2-year degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related major; 4 years’ experience in the human resources, management operations, or related professional area.

OR

• 4-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related major; 2 years’ experience in the human resources, management operations, or related professional area.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Legal and Compliance Practices

• Own compliance on all human resource audits.

• Direct proper adherence and documentation of all progressive disciplinary action.

• Manage compliance with key policies (e.g., Sexual Harassment, Non-Harassment, Non-Discrimination, No Solicitation).

• Manage the Guarantee of Fair Treatment (GFT) to verify it is consistently followed, and proper documentation is maintained on all disciplinary issues.

Human Resources Strategy

• Translate business priorities into property HR strategies, plans and actions.

• Implement and sustain HR initiatives on property coming from above property.

• Monitor effective use of mHUB by property HR professionals, managers, and associates.

• Serve as primary HR leader in partnership with Finance for property payroll.

• Lead and participate in succession management and workforce planning.

• Strategize and execute HR across the property in partnership with the property leadership team.

• Manage one or more on-property Human Resources professional(s), as well as a market-based HR Specialist resource where appropriate.

Managing Human Resources Communication

• Champion the communication of all HR initiatives across the property.

• Partner with regional team and/or HQ Center of Excellence to address any variance necessary with a roll-out being executed on property.

• Coach managers and collaborate with them on progressive discipline process.

• Verify effective associate communication channels are established and are active in all departments on property.

Staffing and Employee Development Activities

• Participate in the interviewing and hiring of associates and managers across all disciplines within the property.

• Develop staffing strategy (in collaboration with the DHR and hiring managers) pertaining to hiring practices, consults with hiring manager on compensation, benefits, etc.

• Manage performance appraisal process (e.g., validate reviews are conducted promptly, increases quickly processed, and management performance appraisals completed).

• Lead the training efforts across the property verifying compliance for orientation, brand training and all other annual required training.

Employee Relations

• Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with associates.

• Responsible for validating the culture remains alive and well among manager and hourly associates on property.

• Utilize an “open door” policy to address associate problems or concerns in a timely manner.

• Partner with DHR and property leadership to improve associate retention through strategic vision and planning.

• Monitor work environment for signs of union organization and partner with labor relations team accordingly

The salary range for this position is $152,000 to $198,000 annually.
