The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Control Systems Engineer/Technologist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Maintaining effective communication with project team, staff, project owners, and managing outside contractors
Providing daily process instrumentation & control support for web and material handling, oven control, and system monitoring
Monitoring and optimizing control system operation through system log files, operator screens, historical data, and trend data
Modifying and creating programs for Programable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interface (HMI) applications, and Wonderware functions
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
OR
- Associate’s degree (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution and three (3) years of experience working with machine control system design and commissioning in a private, public, government, or military environment.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical, chemical, or mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
Prior experience with web line, extrusion, material handling, or inspection equipment
2-4 years of experience in project management in a private, public, government or military environment
Prior knowledge and experience with high voltage power service equipment. (Substations, Transformer, Switch Gear, and Power Lines)
Experience with Allen Bradley, Automax, Modicon control systems, Wonderware, and Ladder Logic.
Experience developing Process Information and Controls Solutions, Computer Security Systems, and Ethernet Networking.

- Nevada, MO
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $95,825 - $117,120, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
