International tax planning and forecasting/compliance position involves collection and analysis of financial and tax data from foreign and domestic J&J affiliates. This is a highly technical environment involving frequent contact with tax and non-tax personnel from foreign and domestic affiliates and other corporate groups.

The primary responsibilities include:

  • Identification and implementation of tax planning opportunities (both self-directed and through partnering with other tax personnel).

  • Support finance, treasury, and other non-tax personnel to enable business and financial decisions to be made and implemented on a tax-efficient basis.

  • Tax forecasting in connection with J&J Business Plan process, as well as processing of actual tax results for financial reporting purposes.

  • Preparation and review of US international tax compliance forms for completeness and accuracy (Forms 5471, 8858, 8865, 1118, 8990, 8991, 8993), ensuring compliance with applicable federal regulations.

  • Preparation, maintenance, and review of Subpart F income, GILTI, FDII, BEAT, Pillar 2 and support of international tax concepts (E&P, PTEP, FTC, 987, etc).

  • Identification and implementation of process improvements to facilitate tax compliance and reporting and enhance end-to-end processes.

  • Preparation and review of responses to IDRs during IRS examination involving international tax issues.

  • Support various ad hoc tax planning and special project work.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA/MBA/MST required.

  • A minimum of 10 years of tax experience working in a Big 4 Accounting Firm and/or a large multinational organization.

  • Strong knowledge of US International Tax concepts (GILTI, BEAT, FDII, Subpart F Income, foreign tax credits, earnings and profits, etc.) strongly preferred.

  • Extensive experience in preparation and review of international forms strongly preferred.

  • Strong tax research, writing and analytical skills required.

  • Ability to interface with tax and business management at all levels.

  • People management experience required.

  • Strong understanding of income tax accounting principles required.

  • Self-directed individual with strong communication and partnering skills; strong analytical skills, time management, and prioritization skills required.

  • Ability to proactively identify and implement process improvements.

  • Working knowledge of Corptax and Corptax International strongly preferred.

  • This position is based in New Brunswick, NJ and may require up to 5% travel.

The base pay range for this position is $113,000 - $195,500

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
