Human Resources Manager – ARTCo – New Orleans, LA

This is a full-time, exempt position.

The Human Resources Manager position reports to the Regional Human Resources Manager and is based in the New Orleans area. This role serves as a strategic partner, providing support to various levels of management and colleagues within the American River Transportation Company (ARTCo) a wholly owned subsidiary of ADM. The position is responsible for driving employee engagement initiatives, fostering positive employee relations, overseeing employee development and training and ensuring the effective administration of policies, EEO compliance, and affirmative action initiatives.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Strategic HR Partnership: Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with leaders to influence and provide effective HR strategies, processes, and counsel.

  • Employee Relations & Talent Management: Act as a proactive consultant to management on employee relations, training and development, and workforce planning strategies to build organizational capability.

  • Pipeline Development: Drive educational partnerships and other initiatives to enhance talent pipeline development and succession planning.

  • Safety Advocacy: Actively champion and promote safety policies and programs, fostering a culture of safety and compliance.

  • Recruitment Leadership: In close partnership with talent acquisition, develop proactive recruitment strategies and ensure a consistent and seamless process for internal recruitment and new hire orientation.

  • Workforce Planning: Lead workforce planning efforts and implement knowledge transfer processes to strengthen current and future bench strength.

  • Policy and Compliance Expertise: Ensure consistent application of ADM policies, procedures, and practices through training, coaching, and one-on-one communication. Provide clear policy interpretation and guidance to management and colleagues.

  • Complaint Resolution: Partner with management to investigate, address, and resolve employee complaints, ensuring fairness and compliance with policies and laws.

  • Core Values Advocacy: Actively promote ADM’s core values, fostering a culture of respect, integrity, excellence, teamwork, and accountability.

Position Requirements:

  • Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.

  • Advanced degree (MBA or Master’s in HR or Organizational Development) is preferred.

  • Professional certifications such as SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent are highly desirable.

  • Experience:

  • A minimum of 7 years of progressive HR experience, including HR management, in a fast-paced, manufacturing, or corporate environment.

  • Demonstrated success in recruitment strategy, onboarding, and retention initiatives.

  • Experience leading employee engagement and workforce planning strategies.

  • Technical Knowledge:

  • Deep knowledge of state and federal labor laws and regulations, including compliance with EEO, FMLA, ADA, and affirmative action requirements.

  • Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Leadership & Interpersonal Skills:

  • Proven ability to engage with and influence a diverse workforce, including senior leaders, managers, and hourly colleagues.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to and coach various audiences.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop HR staff, fostering professional growth and team alignment.

  • Competencies:

  • Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and sound judgment skills.

  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and deliver results under tight deadlines.

  • A commitment to fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performing workplace culture.
