ROLE SUMMARY

Since PAXLOVID's emergency use authorization on 12/22/21, PAXLOVID has helped treat over 19M patients at high-risk from progression to severe COVID-19, which can lead to hospitalization and/or death. Now that PAXLOVID is FDA approved and commercialized in the U.S., this novel protease inhibitor is positioned to remain the gold standard in COVID-19 treatment, despite competitive entry expected in 2025. Significant opportunity to increase treatment rates for eligible patients and bolster PAXLOVID's leadership position in the marketplace continues, as new clinical data, RWE, and label indications are anticipated throughout 2024 and 2025.

The Professional Relations Director will report directly to the US PAXLOVID HCP and Market Shaping Lead and will partner with Global, Media, Medical, and other marketing stakeholders to enhance Pfizer's leadership in the COVID-19 treatment landscape through building upon and strengthening a comprehensive peer-to-peer strategy across the US.

This role will evolve and execute a robust customer engagement / opinion leader strategy as well as act as the main point of contact for identified customers / opinion leaders. This colleague will also continue our tradition of "Pfizer Firsts" with HCP Digital Opinion Leaders (i.e. Social Media Influencers to create and deploy engaging and innovative digital content in accordance with brand strategy.)

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the KOL/DOL strategy that yields optimal advocacy relationships with key customers.

  • Leveraging market and customer insights, COVID-19 treatment trends, and a new HCP segmentation to evolve Opinion Leader strategy.

  • Partnering with Commercial, Communications and Medical to identify national-level and regional-level thought leaders.

  • Enabling a "One Pfizer" experience for these OLs by ensuring all functions are aware of key activities with OLs.

  • Identifying how customers want to engage in various planned activities.

  • Evolving and maintaining current US Key Opinion Leader (OL) list and Digital Opinion Leader List & track engagements

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the KOL on behalf of the commercial team.

  • Lead insight gathering among OLs, including 1:1 engagement, maintaining and facilitating Expert Steering Committee discussions, utilizing asynchronous platforms, and leading social listening efforts to help inform US commercial strategies.

  • Share insights learned with commercial and other cross-functional colleagues.

  • Identify and lead Digital Opinion Leader marketing projects that will drive innovation while meeting key business objectives such as:

  • Assessment of social media channels and DOL strategy, integrated into overall omnichannel strategy.

  • Partnering with HCP team to deliver DOL content that supports overall brand strategy.

  • Development of content with agency in new and engaging formats

  • Contracting and partnering with DOLs to ensure content remains authentic and impactful, while adhering to Pfizer guidelines

  • Evaluation of influencers in accordance with Pfizer compliance guidelines

  • Aggregate and track impact of digital initiatives, integrating tracking into other omnichannel reporting.

  • Maintain a continual commitment to compliance, collaborating with Legal, Compliance, Review Committee, and Digital Review Team to appropriately execute programs.

  • Manage Peer to Peer budget consistent with overall HCP and brand budget goals; to include agency management, HCP honoraria, and Peer to Peer program costs.

  • Collaborate with the HCP Senior Manager, Congress Lead on:

  • Conference strategy and planning for all US national and local congresses, including developing a plan for OL meetings & engagements at conventions that includes clear commercial objectives, key discussion points and insight generation reports.

  • Leadership, content, and speakers for commercial speaker programs, Congress Symposia, and other Peer to Peer initiatives

  • Speaker Program Management:

  • Set strategy for speaker program, including program design, speaker engagement, and content strategy.

  • Maintain existing speaker bureau and appropriately evolve as needed (i.e. speaker communications, speaker recommendations, training, and more)

  • Partner with agency, Compliance, MEET colleagues, MLR, CFCs, and Sales Leadership to align on content, ways of working, and other critical operational needs.

  • Lead and partner with CFC Growth Gig colleagues to ensure materials, comms, and approach will enhance the overall speaker bureau experience.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience; master's degree preferred.

  • Experience in pre-launch brand strategy development, compliant execution of pre-launch programs, brand building (e.g. positioning), launch planning and execution.

  • Experience successfully converting market and stakeholder insights into actionable strategies and tactics.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including to internal and external senior leaders.

  • Strong strategic skills including creativity and effectiveness in identifying and managing major strategic challenges; can manage through ambiguity.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and navigate within a complex organizational matrix achieving results through others across functions, geographies, and a variety of personality styles.

  • Ability and eagerness to challenge status quo, act decisively and operate successfully in an empowered organization.

  • A commitment to excellence - both in the results achieved and in how they are achieved.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree preferred.

  • US Marketing experience

  • Pharmaceutical marketing experience

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $173,300.00 to $288,800.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
