Pfizer Manager, Executive and Digital Communications, Corporate Affairs in New York City, New York

ROLE SUMMARY

The Manager, Executive and Digital Communications, will manage strategic executive and digital communication efforts to shape the conversation around our reputation and cutting-edge science, including supporting the executive communications center of excellence (CoE) and driving innovative employee engagement via external channels. They will support strategy and project management for the CoE, including meeting planning, internal promotion, and ways of working. This individual will also support executive visibility across the enterprise, working collaboratively across Corporate Affairs and serving as a resource for all colleagues engaged in executive communications across the company.

In their work for the Digital Communications team, the primary responsibility of this position will be to build networks of internal and external advocates interested in amplifying the stories of our science, patient impact, and culture in an effort to build trust with our followers. In close collaboration with a cross-functional team, they will work across the global enterprise to increase employee advocacy, leveraging data insights to show the value of boosting brand equity through content sharing. Through their content strategies, they will strive to empower colleagues to proactively advocate for Pfizer's leadership in science and innovation.

The position reports to the Senior Director, Executive Communications, Corporate Affairs, with a dotted line to the Senior Director, Digital Communications, Corporate Affairs, and is based at the Company headquarters in New York City.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborating with communications leads to set objectives, mobilize colleague engagement, and execute strategies to elevate and amplify Pfizer's reputation and drive business goals. Develop strategies and creative concepts to position Pfizer as an industry disruptor that inspires scientific innovation, focuses on patients, and shows support for colleagues.

Specifically, the role will:

  • Support strategic executive and digital communication efforts to shape the conversation around the company's reputation and cutting-edge science

  • Support executive visibility across the enterprise by serving as resource for all colleagues engaged in executive communications as a key member of the CoE

  • Lead digital program to empower colleagues to advocate for Pfizer's leadership in science and innovation and share stories of our science, patient impact, and culture

  • Advise on best practices for distribution strategies across social channels

  • Serve as an educator around digital strategy, social media channels, emerging platforms, best practices, and external strategy & digital content plans for executives

  • Collaborate with global digital leads to cross-promote content, share best practices, and create guidelines and processes for better platform performance and sustainability

  • Train leadership and colleagues on enhancing their social media brand and position themselves as key opinion leaders

  • Maintain constant pulse on digital events, identifying trends, threats and opportunities to help drive strategy

  • Evaluate KPIs and leverage benchmarks to drive performance indicators, determine platform purpose, evolution, and content creation

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • 5+ years of experience in executive communications, digital communications/social media content creation, corporate communications, digital marketing and/or public relations agency.

  • Candidates must exhibit excellent judgement and strong understanding of executive communications best practices.

  • Strong knowledge of platforms for listening and monitoring social media conversations is essential.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related area.

  • Experience in creating compelling and impactful digital content

  • Excellent presentation skills and persuasiveness are mandatory.

  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate success in a fast-paced, high-exposure and highly collaborative environment.

  • Discipline in time management and precision in the execution of duties - from content creation to delivery - are especially important, given the largely deadline driven, highly visible nature of the work.

Nice-to-Have

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a significant volume of projects in a matrixed environment, while exhibiting the ability to prioritize, provide oversight and demonstrate excellent judgmental skills.

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare space

  • Create and oversee creation of compelling content for a lay audience.

  • Excellent and demonstrated interpersonal skills: ability to understand and respond to multiple external and internal customers' demands, manage and handle conflict constructively required.

  • Familiarity with internal/external SOPs/Rules/Regulations regarding Pfizer/customer interactions and relationships, etc.

  • Familiarity and comfort with social media rules of engagement, including Pfizer policies governing digital communication and interaction, and experience using social channels to communicate.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $93,500.00 to $155,900.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 12.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
