The Chief Technology Officer Organization’s vision is to raise the bar for technical excellence, talent, strategy, and standards across Technology. It also seeks to cultivate and foster technical innovation, as well as elevate and amplify the technical heartbeat of the organization.

We are on a journey to develop an enterprise-scale, federated GraphQL service that will power all of our customer experiences. Whether the customer is online using our award-winning web and mobile applications, on the phone with our legendary Customer Care Professionals, or reaching us through Alexa, our GraphQL service will provide all the data and functionality needed at the point of customer contact. Fast, secure, real-time, and seamlessly integrated. We don't box our engineers in. You will have an opportunity to work on every facet of our GraphQL service including:

  • Building federated GraphQL servers and gateways on cloud

  • Domain discovery and GraphQL API design

  • Integrating with data services to move data quickly, reliably and securely

  • Building shared tools, frameworks and libraries to make it easy to build and use our service The right candidates will be strong problem solvers, who are willing to take risks, to experiment, and to adapt quickly. So if that sounds like you, and you're interested in a career where you can make an impact on an audience of millions, look no further. Technical skills:

  • Kotlin or Java (you'll have an opportunity to learn new languages in the role, for example Javascript)

  • Spring Boot and Webflux desirable, but not essential

  • API Design, Domain-Driven Design principles and data architecture

  • Exposure to GraphQL desirable, but not essential

  • Exposure to CI/CD practices

  • Exposure to Agile practices (Scrum/Kanban)

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with product managers and product owners

  • Work closely with a team of engineers to design, build, test and deploy code

  • Contribute towards the continuous improvement of the platform and team practices

  • Communicate effectively with tech, operations and business colleagues

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS in computer science or computer engineering

  • Software engineering experience

  • Experience with Java vs. 8 or higher programming

  • Experience with UI technologies like, ReactJS, HTML, CSS

  • Experience with SQL or NOSQL databases

  • Experience working in agile methodology

  • Experience with GitHub / Git

  • Experience working with Springboot and Spring Cloud

Qualifications

Salary Range: $85,000.00 to $150,000.00 annually bonus benefits
