Digital acquisition is one of Amex’s top priorities. Core to delivering on this priority are card and banking application and onboarding experiences that enable our customers to apply for our products with the least amount of effort, wherever and however they choose to apply. In addition to an enormous emphasis on users and usability, our team is responsible for card number assignment and fulfillment of new applications while maintaining a frictionless experience. This requires a multi-dimensional approach to the fulfillment of applications we receive through Digital acquisitions as we drive faster approval-to-spend timeframes for existing and new customers.

We are looking for a passionate, talented, and adaptable strategic product thought leader to own platform fulfillment capabilities that support American Express’ prospect and customer, Card and non- card fulfillment platforms.

In this role, you will develop the product strategy, drive implementation of that strategy, and lead a global team associated with the “Set up My Product” (SMP) Area Product Group (APG) within the Acquisitions Orchestration Platforms & Services Strategy (AOPSS) team. You will lead a high-performing and nimble team of product managers and partner with senior leaders and their teams across Technology, Analytics, Application journeys, Compliance, Privacy, and market foundations to deliver products and initiatives that will directly contribute to the success of our company.

You will be responsible for:

  • Owning, developing, and delivering SMP-related strategies and capabilities to include the Card Number Allocation Platform (CNAP) and the Electronic Fulfillment Platform (EFP)

  • Owning key stakeholder relationships across journey experience, compliance, and engineering associated with the SMP APG

  • Owning product discovery by forming hypotheses, defining objectives and key results, socializing results with leaders, and delivering options that best balance cost and benefit to achieve defined outcomes

  • Defining outcomes and associated strategic Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to drive strategic business value while balancing product innovation and efficiency

  • Prioritizing and coordinating initiatives to reduce friction, enhancing automation, and decreasing approval-to-spend timeframes to generate incremental revenue via product enhancements and continuous experimentation.

  • Identifying discovery outcomes, guiding stakeholders as they navigate the product management life cycle, and establishing clear prioritization criteria

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a product thought leader with the ability to influence strategic aspects of digital product management

  • Extensive product management experience in an Agile environment and with products and platforms, with direct responsibility for a product directly supported by a technology scrum team

  • Proven ability to develop and execute against a product vision, strategy and prioritized backlog

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Able to simplify complex ideas, navigate cross-functional teams, build relationships, influence decisions, and deliver on shared objectives

  • Relationship management skills with ability strengthen business partnerships across business units and key functional support areas

  • Deep understanding of the acquisitions process and particularly the fulfillment platform areas of this process

  • Experience with CNAP, EFP a plus

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and processes to identify creative solutions, drive incremental improvement, and deliver and measure success through effective KPI development

  • Ability to self-start, carve opportunities out of ambiguity, and operate with a high degree of independence

Qualifications

Salary Range: $150,000.00 to $225,000.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
