As part of the Global Merchant & Network Services group (GMNS), the Network & Acquirer Solutions (NAS) team is at the core of American Express, uniquely positioned to service every business unit and customer across the Enterprise. Each year, we power billions of transactions through our global payments network, serving our Issuing and Acquiring businesses in more than 170 markets worldwide.

About the Role

Reporting to the Vice President, Digital Checkout Solutions, the role of Director, Secure Remote Commerce is an exciting opportunity to drive scale of existing payment capabilities as well as define the vision for new and innovative payment opportunities. SRC is an e-commerce solution based on the EMV SRC specifications, with the initial product offering being the ‘Click To Pay’ button. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive product innovation, enhance user

experience, and achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development : Establish a product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Secure Remote Commerce. Define and prioritize the product roadmap based on market research, customer feedback and industry trends.

  • Performance Monitoring : Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly monitor and report on the success metrics, making data-driven decisions to drive product enhancements.

  • Partnership Management : Identify and establish strategic partnerships with payment providers, fintech companies, and other relevant stakeholders to deploy globally scalable solutions, ensuring continuous focus on best-in-class user experiences, opportunities to test and learn, product quality, and speed to market.

  • Regulatory Compliance and Industry Trends: Stay informed about regulatory requirements and ensure that our products comply with applicable laws and regulations, whilst maintaining a pulse on industry trends to shape the direction of product features and capabilities, including engagement with Industry forums. (EMVCo)

  • Team Leadership : Build and lead a high-performing team of product managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Responsible for performance evaluations, employee engagement, coaching and people development.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Relevant experience : 10 years’ experience in global payments, ideally within Product & Platform Management, Program Management or Project Management. Solid understanding of digital payment technologies and payment processing.

  • External Mindset : Depth in understanding of current market dynamics with proven ability to identify and integrate external trends into business strategies.

  • Results oriented : Proven track record of coordinating between Business, Product, Platform Delivery, and Technology teams to deliver key strategic projects.

  • Passion for execution : Passion to drive program execution and delivery in a fast-moving and innovative environment.

  • Problem solving : Ability to gather and synthesize data to drive insights and leverage thought leadership and critical thinking to solve problems.

  • Project management : Exceptional project management skills with flawless organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Highly collaborative : Ability to collaborate with and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver value beyond traditional means.

  • Effective communicator and influencer : Ability to influence key partners and executive stakeholders. Excellent communication skills, proficient in developing excellent quality presentations and deliverables for an executive audience.

  • Cross-functional team leadership : Ability to mobilize and lead cross-functional team collaboration to achieve results in a fast paced, multi-partner environment with constant change. Demonstrated track record for delivering results in complex and highly-matrixed organizations.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $150,000.00 to $225,000.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
