The Manager, Colleague Communications helps drive understanding of global initiatives through rich, dynamic and multimedia storytelling. The Manager will serve as the editorial team lead for various focus areas, as well as enterprise events and program coverage. The role will also further Colleague Communications’ data-driven content strategy, ensuring we apply insights to continuously elevate and innovate across our internal ecosystem. This position reports to the Vice President, Enterprise Editorial & Strategy.

How will you make an impact in this role?

  • Create a wide range of news and feature content for the company’s intranet and Slack channel, with a primary focus on serving as the Colleague Communications team lead for: Corporate Social Responsibility; Risk Management & Business Conduct; enterprise award program coverage; editorial content that furthers colleagues’ understanding of our business (e.g., Amex Unboxed and Coffee Talks); as well as Quarterly Town Halls and other annual events (e.g., Customer Service Week, Colleague Appreciation Month and Shop Small).

  • Manage Colleague Communications Council, a quarterly peer forum to share plans and best practices. Responsibilities include recommending agendas, organizing meetings, and producing post-meeting recaps, working in support of VP program sponsors.

  • Manage Colleague Communications research and data program to enhance engagement with our content. This entails:

  • Data reporting and analysis (i.e., leading analysis of results, hosting quarterly review meetings, working with team to implement test and learn scenarios)

  • Conducting quarterly colleague focus groups and targeted surveys to better understand audience preferences

  • Identifying opportunities to improve data collection via evolving Tech platforms.

  • Help advance storytelling efforts by implementing new and creative approaches, including pitching ideas for original franchises and adopting best practices from consumer media.

  • Support story-mining and brainstorming efforts within the Editorial team and across American Express.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated expertise in colleague communications programs.

  • Excellent communicator, including strong presentation, writing and editing skills.

  • Strong analytical skills. Ability to translate insights into digestible and actional dashboards for content creators.

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and comfort working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong collaboration skills, including the ability to work across multi-discipline teams.

  • Experience leading meetings and presenting to senior leaders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Public relations and content marketing agency experience.

  • Communication experience with a large, global or financial services organization.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits
