Description

The Funding Planning and Strategy team is a part of the Global Treasury Organization at American Express. The team’s core objectives are to maintain a well-diversified plan to fund the company’s global operations, advise various teams in execution against such plan and lead various strategic key initiatives to optimize funding mix and funding costs.

This position affords the opportunity to help development, implement, and eventually prepare our company’s funding plan to ensure compliance with daily liquidity requirements. Incorporating these requirements to the company’s funding planning process is critical as American Express continues to grow its balance sheet. The role provides an amazing opportunity to be a key part of our migration to a Category III and over time a Category II bank.

Specific responsibilities of this position include:

  • Forecast and plan for American Express’ global funding needs in line with the corporate-wide funding and liquidity strategies

  • Support the implementation and development of the company’s funding process to ensure compliance with LCR and NSFR daily requirements

  • Perform analysis and review of funding related assumptions, methodologies, and processes

  • Provide support for transformation of the funding planning process with focus on automation of existing processes

  • Continue evolution our company's funding policy and supporting internal control group reviews and regulatory

Minimum Qualifications

  • An analytical approach coupled with strong process management skills and ability to drive enhancements

  • Strategic and independent thinker with the ability to collaborate across teams

  • Flexible and adaptable as well as comfortable with ambiguity

  • Highly motivated self-starter and quick learner with effective and independent prioritization skills

  • High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits
