The Global Risk & Compliance Organization (“GRC”) independently oversees the company’s risk-taking and risk management activities, including the comprehensive identification, management, and mitigation of risks within the Company’s risk appetite. GRC ensures the company operates in a safe, sound and fully compliant manner within all applicable regulatory expectations. We create and maintain the overall risk management framework and policies while ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.

How will you make an impact in this role?
Global Risk and Compliance is recruiting specialized talents in the following fields:
Credit Risk : Monitor credit portfolios and oversee enterprise-wise credit risk management decisions and process via quantitative analytics. The candidate will work closely with credit risk teams to effectively challenge processes, policies, strategies, frameworks, and governance procedures designed
Risk Management and Risk Oversight: Responsible for managing AXP’s enterprise risk pillars through continuous reviewing, monitoring and testing across processes, strengthening AXP’s risk management practices, and monitoring emerging risks across the industry.
Minimum Qualifications
Advanced degree (e.g., MS, PhD, MBA) in quantitative fields such as Economic, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
Advanced degree is preferred but not required given a suitable combination of formal education and work experience
Ability to handle large datasets using SAS, SQL, R, Python or another similar programming language
Ability to organize, manage, analyze, and interpret large amounts of data to identify trends and themes
Proven ability to translate highly technical and complex information into easily understandable terms
Ability to think strategically and influence teammates on multiple, cross-functional teams
Positive, can-do attitude embracing Growth Mindset
Project management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask
Demonstrated experience building, sustaining and leveraging relationships.
Strong work ethic, organizational skills and attention to detail with excellent follow-up skills
Demonstrated willingness to take initiative and act decisively
Strong written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
0-3 years’ experience in Risk or related fields preferably with financial services
Understanding and knowledge of banking industry
Experience with data and quantitative analytics
Qualifications
Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits
