WHO WE ARE:

Global Advertising and Brand Management (GABM) creates worldwide demand for American Express, driving business through innovative marketing, messaging, partnerships, and experiences. Within GABM, the Global Media team focuses on developing innovative media programs across markets; creating memorable experiences for our members and encouraging brand reappraisal among prospects.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Manager on the global media team, this person will support a broad range of activities related to the management and execution of media across all channels in the US. This position requires a combination of creativity and detail orientation, and industry knowledge to deliver innovative and effective media campaigns. The role has a high level of interface with business units and requires excellent collaboration with internal stakeholders as well as agency and media partners.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Support strategic planning and buying across paid media including television, out-of-home, radio, print, digital, social and addressable channels. Digital planning and/or activation experience strongly preferred.

  • Stewardship of media campaigns, including management of agency partner teams to ensure plans deliver on objectives and strategies and create impact in the marketplace

  • Execution of integrated marketing partnerships, in collaboration with other internal functional teams

  • Responsible for overseeing media investment management – process authorizations and bills, management of media budgets for specific brands / products

  • Point of contact for internal business units and external media partners

  • Responsible for campaign measurement and insights for all media campaigns and brand activation initiatives

  • Continued evaluation and assessment of media trends and landscape

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to author and present best practices, POVs, and strategic planning guidelines

Qualifications

  • 5 years experience in media or communications planning; agency experience strongly preferred

  • Expertise in paid media including: television, radio, out-of-home, digital, social, search, and addressable channels; working knowledge of emerging media channels

  • Strong communicator with the ability to build relationships with various stakeholders

  • Detail-oriented, organized and able to manage processes and simultaneous workflows

  • Curious and logical thinker with problem solving skills

  • Ability to blend quantitative analysis and creative thinking to generate insights and big ideas

  • Collaborative team player with a positive attitude

  • Self-motivated, comfortable working autonomously when needed

  • Agile, able to navigate ambiguity to effectively operate in a fast paced, constantly evolving environment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
