Job Description:

As a Senior Architect you will be expected to:

Work collaboratively with AMLKYC and Client Service technology teams and business partners to deliver high quality architecture solutions for large multi-generational programs to support organizational missions Work on multiple projects utilizing agile methodologies to provide current-state, transition-state and target-state solutions that best fit the business requirements and align to enterprise goals Create and maintain the target application architecture and blueprints along with strategic roadmaps Support technology teams in addressing latency and performance issues with applications Maintain reference architecture and defines shared application components, platforms, interfaces, and development tools Develop prototypes of the system design and work with database, operations, technical support and other IT areas as appropriate throughout development and implementation process Plan and lead proof of concepts (POCs) in support of new technology and/or new design approaches Provide high-level design choices and recommendations based on architecture alternative analysis Drive buy vs build decisions based on reviewing products and capabilities within the enterprise as well as leading products and technologies in the industry Effectively communicate designs and solutions in multiple forums and to various audiences including technology and business executives Collaborate with other architecture resources within the organization and enterprise Offer technical guidance on technical standards, including coding standards, tools, or platforms

Required Skills:

10+ years of relevant experience in enterprise architecture preceded by software engineering experience

Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience

Hands-on experience with SSO, Load Balancers, Apache HTTPD, REACT, PWA, Java/J2EE/SpringCloud services, PEGA CLM, Docker, OpenShift, KAFKFA, MQ, HazelCast, Redis, Elastic Search and Oracle

Proficient with Site Reliability Engineering and DevOps toolkits, specifically Jenkins pipelines, Artifactory and Tower

Proficient in areas of REST API, fan-out messaging, multi-channel services and event driven architecture

Ability to define solutions to solve large scale, complex business problems with high resiliency, scalability, performance and concurrency requirements

Ability to research and understand new technology solutions and present essential comparisons, pros/cons, and target use cases

Adept at IT operations, Agile Methodology, Software Development Lifecycle, and Systems Architectures

Ability to collaborate with business and technical resources to understand and develop solutions that meet business requirements, translating strategy and objectives when necessary

Ability to lead discussions in a matrix environment focusing on team and organizational success

Ability to represent architecture in various architecture forums within the enterprise

Ability to communicate with impact (written and verbal) and influence decisions across LOB and technology

Desired Skills:

Experience in Investment Banking, Securities and Derivatives, Anti-money Laundering/KYC, Workflow & Robotic Process Automation, Hadoop and Data Analytics

Experience with ML/AI specifically DataRobot, Document DBs and Graph databases

Relevant programming and cloud certifications

Knowledge in Continuous Integration/Deployment and Container deployment automation

Ability to provide recommendations supported by Alternative Architecture Analysis (AAA) , Proof-of-Concept (POC) , Vendor evaluation & other methods that substantiate the proposals and recommendations

Knowledge and experience with working in an agile SDLC methodology environment

LOB General:

Responsible for defining an architectural vision and architecture for large complex solutions, which aligns with the enterprise architecture strategy, technology and platform choices. Describes the solution intent and the associated operating environment, determining the primary systems/subsystems and their interfaces, defining non-functional requirements and architectural runway to support new epics/features and expand into new opportunities. Ensures the solution is fit for purpose and use by working with stakeholders, vendors/service providers, and evaluating the impact of strategic design decisions. Contributes to best practices, standard templates, and the architecture roadmap for defined domains. Contributes in the creation of the architecture roadmap of defined domains (Business, Application, Data and Technology) in support of the product roadmap. Contributes to the development of best practices including standardized templates. Works across business and technology to create the solution intent and architectural vision for large complex solutions and evolves it based on an emerging backlog. Leads rapid shaping of a high level architecture with details filled in with emerging business requirements; ensures architecture is flexible and modular and designed to adapt easily. Facilitates solution driven discussions, leads the design of complex architectures, and finds creative solutions through practical experiments and POCs. Works with Product Manager/Owner to plan and prioritize technology focused backlog items for the architecture runway to enable business epics/features and expand into new opportunities. Clarifies the architecture for the development teams to support implementation, and provides solution options to resolve any architectural impediments. Performs design and code reviews to ensure all non-functional requirements for a solution are sufficiently met (e.g. security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability). Supports the Principal Engineer as needed to select the technology stack needed for solutions, and helps select preferred technology products.
