The Global Services Group (GSG) provides American Express’ renowned brand of customer service to consumers, merchants, and corporations. It employs colleagues in 22 countries delivering extraordinary customer care to Card Members and Merchants around the world, while providing world-class credit, collections and fraud services, and driving revenue growth for the company.

This Senior Financial Analyst opportunity is a decision support role within the GSG HQ Finance team that will provide financial support—including analytical insights and reporting—focusing on end-to-end business drivers and the related expense base for Global Services Group. This role will have exposure to senior leaders and will interact frequently with GSG Business Partners as well as Corporate Planning & Analysis and Business Unit CFO teams.


  • Collaborate with Finance and Business Partners in support of volume forecasting and results analysis

  • Consolidate and drive insights on operational and business volumes for Finance Leadership

  • Create management reporting for GSG chargeout quotes and monthly results

  • Investigate Business Unit CFO inquiries on operational volumes and expenses

  • Implement new tools and process improvements to enhance reporting, enable analysis, and drive automation

  • Perform ad hoc analysis leveraging Finance and GSG analytical data in Cornerstone


  • Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of experience in Finance or a relevant Analytical role

  • Manipulates large amounts of data and generates meaningful insights

  • Continuously questions analysis to identify and correct inconsistencies

  • Breaks down problems and applies appropriate techniques to solve

  • Synthesizes data and articulates key messages effectively

  • Approaches challenges with an agile mindset

  • Builds and leverages relationships to drive results

  • Effectively manages multiple priorities and tight deadlines

  • Skilled in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, with knowledge of Macros/VBA a plus

  • Experience with Oracle Smart View, IBM TM1 Planning Analytics, and Microsoft Power BI is preferred

  • Experience with Hive, DBeaver, or other SQL-based database tools is also preferred
