Senior Manager-Network Product Development

It begins with a Card Member using an American Express Card at one of our millions of Merchants around the world – the rest is up to us. The Network and Acquirer Solutions team (NAS) is the heart of the American Express Enterprise, powering billions of transactions through the global payments processing network that we develop and manage.

The NAS team is unique within American Express. We work across almost every American Express business unit as well as external partners, providers, and key industry customers. We are known to be intellectually curious and problem solvers as we tackle the most imperative initiatives facing the payments industry today, such as securing online transactions and enabling faster, more convenient ways to pay. A role within NAS will challenge you to broaden your skills and industry competence while giving you the chance to drive enterprise growth and help deliver on our brand promise of trust, security and service.

Reporting to the Director, New Products and Capabilities and partnering with a large group of stakeholders to organize & drive the delivery of a large program of development focused on modernizing the customer and partner experience. This role will be responsible for driving the execution of direct and indirect onboarding processes including emerging GNS models. A prime candidate will be able to display a relentless drive for efficiency gains and value delivery for internal and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as Program Manager leading aspects of a modernization program within the SAFe Solution Delivery Layer

  • Collaborate with product owners and product managers to help define product direction

  • An effective communicator, who coordinates on how technology can help address a business need and drives alignment on standard platform capabilities, that can be scaled to new use cases.

  • Partner with Technologies and collaborators to understand the roadmap and prioritize into a backlog with clearly defined capabilities and requirements

  • Apply agile tools and techniques to drive successful delivery: attending ceremonies, PI planning and driving consistency across scrum teams

  • Provide consultancy to business partners to ensure that processes and capability changes are well understood by all

  • Lead and support agile working practices to deliver maximum value to partners

This role may be subject to additional background verification checks.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in a Product Owner, Program Manager or Release Management role with familiarity with Rally or similar tools preferred

  • Experience driving results and collaborating in a cross-functional and global environment

  • Thrive in taking an analytical approach with ability to drive output, develop insights and provide recommendations for prioritization decisions

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills required, to craft and deliver effective messages to senior Leaders

  • Self-starter able to work independently, with outstanding problem solving and interpersonal skills

  • Experience of applying Scrum, SAFE or similar methodology / tools in practice

  • Consistent track record to adjust quickly to shifting priorities, multiple demands and ambiguity

  • Flexibility to support various time zones, as role supports global initiatives

Qualifications

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits
