American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) Products is the leading payment card issuer for corporations and small businesses, offering products, services, and capabilities to help them run and grow their business. Within GCS, the Commercial Product Design team is seeking a Senior Product Designer to play a critical role crafting the future of these digital experiences for our customers.

You will combine expertise in your craft with a data-informed knowledge of customers to create impactful experiences that deliver on our business goals. Collaboration is critical to our success , so we value those who build relationships, and have the curiosity to ask important questions, speak up and debate ideas. We also need strategic thinkers to connect the dots across experiences and leverage knowledge of market and industry trends to inform their decision making.
Key Responsibilities
Identifies the right artifacts to create based on project needs and timeline and delivers high quality artifacts such as wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity specifications
Sets the vision for the user experience
Develops understanding and empathy for users through user-centered methodologies, external analysis, research, and data
Presents design decisions and design strategy to peers, partners and cross-functional leadership
Actively improves design process and workflow for broader design organization Contributes to and actively improves design systems and UX patterns
Collaborates closely with product managers, engineers, design leads and other cross-functional partners to define project requirements and deliver against them
Actively engages with other designers to exchange ideas, share skills, and provide mentorship for teammates
Mentors other designers and may have a direct report
Efficiently leverages design tools to deliver artifacts, drive collaboration with cross-functional partners, and build efficiencies into broader design team workflow
Comfortable using data-analytics tools to make informed decisions
Minimum Qualifications
5 years of professional product design experience, including work on a B2B or commercial payments platform
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Deep understanding of user-centered design methodologies, research, and processes
Ability to share solutions and strategy to problem-solving initiatives in an engaging way
Proactive and energetic communicator with excellent attention to detail
Expert knowledge in Figma or similar design software (i.e. Sketch)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using collaboration tools, such as JIRA, Confluence, Airtable , Mural, and FigJam

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
