Director, Public Relations & Communication – Timberland
What will you do?
You will lead the brand's communications strategy to build reputation and positive perception. Oversee global public relations strategy, agency management, external comms, corporate/internal comms, and crisis management. Build and maintain high-profile relationships and manage consumer-facing public relations initiatives. Oversee regional PR execution.

What you will do :
Global Brand Communication Strategy - Develop and execute the global brand communication strategy, leveraging Global PR agencies and brand PR strategy (long- and short-term vision) to do so.
Own corporate/internal communications.
Brand Communication Execution - Lead the creative assets strategy and production to support communications strategy, partnering closely with the brand management leader to ensure integration with the Global Integrated Marketing Plan.
Own corporate/internal communications, direct crisis management, and oversee global and regional PR activities (located in regions), e.g., press release in region, product placement in region, Global Look Books.
Agency and Stakeholder Collaboration - Develop and manage relationships with agency partners to produce brand, product, and technology-themed storytelling.
Partner with brand management to align with consumer insights and seasonal marketing strategies.
Media Relations and Representation - Cultivate and maintain relationships with key media outlets, VIPs and industry stakeholders. Serve as the official spokesperson for the brand, engaging with media at events and initiatives globally.
Strategize, build and foster VIP and celebrity seeding and placements that drive brand awareness with consumer and build brand elevation in the market.
Strategize, build and foster Collaboration and Energy initiatives through partnerships that drive brand heat and commercial opportunity.
With your knowledge of culture and tier 0 retail, you will play a key role in building out the tier 0 influential network across creative culture, from fashion and street to eco-innovation and design, art around the world.
Create, plan and execute Global and Regional PR events and activations – In Real Life (IRL) and/or digital.
Ideate, identify and Develop creative, buzz-worthy, coverage-worthy pitch/story angles.
Collate Global and Regional PR metrics and reporting, working in partnership with PR agency and regional teams to demonstrate the value of PR/communications within the overall marketing mix.
In partnership with other brand functions such as brand management and digital, shape influencer and authenticator strategy for Timberland.
Conduct media training and interview preparation for spokespersons
Craft strong press releases and Look Books to lead our global and regional marketing initiatives and product launches.
Oversee and check the creative expression of the brand – visible elements for consumers (physical and digital) and own key relationships internally and externally.
How you will do it :
Work with regional marketing leaders to ensure they have what is needed to activate commerciality in their region.
Work with the Creative Director to ideate in the creative briefing process.
Collaborate with Brand Operations Manager to ensure the on-time delivery and complete creative tool kits.
Manage external agencies to deliver the highest value of contractual obligations to support brand priorities.

The foundational skills you will need in this position are:
Public relations/communications expertise (in depth expertise in crisis management, understanding of media landscape)
Strategic communications planning expertise (build and execute cohesive communications strategies)
Relationship building and stakeholder management
Success in developing and executing global communications strategies for a brand including public relations, internal and external
Experience in shaping and protecting a brand's reputation
Experience managing relationships with PR agencies
Agency management, media relations, and experience leading PR campaigns across multiple regions with ability to adapt strategies for regional differences
Crisis communication expertise and ability to do risk mitigation
Brand storytelling
Experience managing consumer-focused events, product launches and media campaigns

Hiring Range :
$154,000.00 USD - $192,500.00 USD annually
Incentive Potential : This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
