American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) is dedicated to the success of businesses big and small with the vision to be essential to our customers’ businesses every day. As part of GCS, the Small Business Product Strategy and Card Features team sits within our Small Business Products & Blueprint organization. “SBS Strategy” is responsible for articulating the vision for the SBS product line and managing features and functionality shared across the SBS Card portfolios.

Important among these features are Employee Cards and Account Manager. Every Business Card Member has the option to add additional Employee or “supplemental” cards to their accounts, which can be used to segment expenses or enable Employee Spend. Additionally, the Account Manager access profile allows Card Members to delegate access to a trusted colleague to handle account responsibilities on their behalf. These products perform a vital role in enabling our customers to run and fund their businesses and are some of American Express’ most relied-upon business tools.

The Senior Manager Employee Cards & Small Business Features will be responsible for the product strategy, value proposition and P&L for our Employee Card and Account Manager Products. This person will play a key role in all core aspects of the portfolio strategy and will be responsible for managing the product roadmap, driving acquisition and engagement, supporting Go-To-Market initiatives, and leading reporting and analytics.

This individual will work cross-functionally with key internal partners including Prospect & Customer Marketing, Servicing, Finance, New Product Development, GCO, Compliance, Operational Excellence, and more. A successful candidate will have a passion for and ability to manage products with a best-in-class experience, develop and implement winning strategies, think outside and beyond the box, and influence a variety of partners.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Serve as the primary Employee Card and Account Manager thought leader and product champion for GCS; partner closely with Consumer product to drive a consistent future vision

  • Develop Portfolio strategy and optimize performance by understanding P&L drivers and work with critical partners to implement strategy

  • Investigate into portfolio insights to identify trends and opportunities to drive acquisition, product engagement, and reduce attrition

  • Lead complaints monitoring, identification of operational issues and remediation

  • Lead reporting and insights for SBS Employee Card program in collaboration with Finance and Marketing

Minimum Qualifications

  • Expert project management skills including content collation, deck building, workstream tracking and meeting facilitation across band levels

  • Strategic and creative thinker who loves to solve complex problems

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and comfort presenting ideas

  • Financial acumen and ability to synthesize data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations

  • Comfort navigating white space and strong ability to create structure

  • Collaborator with proven cross-functional leadership and ability to influence across partners

  • Customer-first approach with knowledge of commercial customer needs

  • 4 years of related experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in product marketing or strategy a plus

Qualifications

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
