We are seeking a Maintenance First Line Supervisor at our Newark Tralee Park site in Newark, Delaware . The Maintenance First Line Supervisor is responsible for the effective and safe execution of daily maintenance activities performed by DuPont mechanics, electricians, and Multi-craft Technicians. They are responsible for performance management, improvement & utilization of maintenance management systems, and development of their maintenance organization. The Maintenance First Line Supervisor ensures maintenance work is performed in compliance with safety, health, and regulatory standards while meeting business needs.

This position reports to the Maintenance Leader.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Embrace and role model DuPont Core Values.

  • Lead a team of up to ten direct reports across all shifts that supports all operations across the site. Accountable for personnel management of direct reports per plant policies, such as recognition, goal setting, coverage planning for time off, and performance management.

  • Ensure safe and effective execution of maintenance tasks through safe work practices, procedures, and operational discipline. Participate in audits and line walks. Drive good shop and job site housekeeping.

  • Coach, develop and provide safety, behavior, and performance feedback to team members to build capabilities, align on expectations and improve team effectiveness.

  • Ensure proper training, competency development, and fitness for service for all employees on the team.

  • Complete administrative requirements and Leader Standard Work, examples including participating in daily and weekly scheduling and update meetings, reviewing, and issuing scheduled and emergency work to personnel, following up and reporting on job status, reviewing work order and calibration documentation, and leading team meetings.

  • Hire, retain, and develop talent to meet current and future capabilities.

  • Review complex maintenance activities and walk down as needed during work planning and execution phases.

  • Drive improvement in work execution quality and accuracy. Report schedule compliance metrics and track misses and breakdowns.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • 5+ years of experience in an Industrial, manufacturing, or similar setting

  • 2+ years of experience in the Maintenance Department

  • Prior supervisory experience, either in a permanent, or functional guidance role preferred.

  • Self-motivated and able to work and make decisions without close supervision.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; must build relationships and trust with teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and develop solutions; must identify and collaborate with multiple resources to resolve issues.

  • Knowledge of complex process systems and the hazards, failure modes, and maintenance of the associated equipment.

  • Trained in Root Cause Failure Analysis and has led investigation meetings.

  • Understanding of various maintenance restoration techniques and methodologies.

  • Process Safety Management experience preferred.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office and SAP.
