DuPont Electronics and Industrials seeking a Plant Leader for its Kalrez® Plant and its Annex in Newark, Delaware. This role provides overall leadership for the plant supporting the Kalrez® DuPont business. The site & its annex has enjoyed tremendous growth and investment over the last few years, which is expected to continue for the foreseeable future.

The Tralee Park/Tralee Park Annex (TPA) Plant is located along Interstate 95 in the City of Newark, which is in northwest Delaware. The Kalrez Plant employs 265 people, including 50 resident contractors. Tralee Park produces o-rings/ and custom parts and has a 50-year track record of innovation and development, creating seals that stand up to the most challenging operating environments. From aerospace and chemical processing to chip manufacturing and oil and gas/renewable energy applications, DuPont™ Kalrez® elastomers are engineered to provide more stability, more resistance, and more effective sealing to the market.

The Newark area is a great place to live, having all the amenities of a big city along with east coast charm and affordability. It’s known for its green spaces, like Rittenhouse Park, with its trout-filled creek. On the outskirts, White Clay Creek State Park has miles of forest trails, plus a late-1700s mansion! This role oversees holistic discreet parts manufacturing operations including compounding, molding, curing, finishing, inspection, packaging, and shipping. This role gives direction to functional groups (i.e., EHS, Quality, Training, Maintenance, etc.) to support safe, reliable production. The plant leader role drives continuous improvement initiatives to ensure core value, workforce and business goals are met.

Plant Leader is an experienced leadership role that delivers profitable results and long-term value consistently aligned to business objectives. The Plant Leader engages all employees in DuPont's Operational Excellence framework; Instills behaviors and mindsets for operating safely; Manages plant financial performance with discipline and rigor and builds a sense of pride and ownership at all levels.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Embraces and role models DuPont Core Values; Cultivates a culture of excellence

  • Partners with leaders to stay informed of the business strategy and needs; Engages with employees to communicate business strategy and gain insight on strengths and challenges to delivery of strategy; Leads change to meet business needs

  • Establishes financial accountability and rigor to deliver against plan and gain value from our assets and investments by pulling the right levers to manage expenses, margins, etc.

  • Establishes and communicates challenging performance goals, metrics and outcomes for site to safely and efficiently meet or exceed production and quality goals aligned to customers’ needs

  • Hires, retains and develops talent to meet current and future capabilities; Promotes a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment; Coaches and provides performance feedback to team members to align on expectations and overall team effectiveness; Uses reward and recognition to drive the right behaviors and results; Defines a plant leadership learning and development plan tied to capability and development needs

  • Promotes commitment and ownership to Operational Excellence by engaging team members to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, eliminate waste and remove barriers; Uses lean and digital tools effectively

  • Collaborates across functions (R&D, Supply Chain, EHS, Engineering, Finance, Quality, etc.) to align resources, eliminate inefficiencies and deliver value

  • Interacts in a timely fashion with customers, community, regulatory and media to maintain strong external relations

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years relevant experience across multiple manufacturing disciplines: EHS, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Reliability, Technology, HR, Finance, and Continuous Improvement

  • 5+ years’ experience leading through other leaders (i.e., Multiple organization levels)

  • Experienced Six Sigma/Lean practitioner with demonstrated results

  • BS, Sciences, Engineering, Supply Chain

  • APICS CSCP or CPIM Certification, preferred
