Responsibilities

Managing the engineering staff and overall engineering activities for Mini Hydraulic Excavator less than 3.5t class machines including following key activities.

• CPI and commercial issue fix

• Cost management

• Regulatory compliance

• NPI

Collaborate with global MHE team to provide the engineering support on above activities that take place in Japan. This includes activities on 4-10t class machines.

Supervising the chassis design teams in following area.

• Large structure and structure analysis

• Light structure

• Hydraulic lines

Supervising the project engineers and project lead engineer who report to this role.

Provide leadership, supervision, and technical direction to the BCP MHE Engineering Team located in Yokohama.

Providing engineering support for machine facility team, supply chain team, purchasing team, product support team, commercial team, aftermarket team for MHE business.

Required skills and knowledges.

・Global collaboration and communication skill in Japanese and English.

・People management and influencing skill for 10-15 team members.

・Customer focus mindset for all kind of downstream customers.

・Planning and execution skill including prioritization and timeline management.

・Wide knowledge on construction equipment especially on MHE.

・Technical expertise on mechanical engineering and data analysis.

・Construction machine development process knowledge.

・Knowledge and experience on problem solving methodology.
