Job Description
BAE Norfolk Ship Repair is seeking applicants for the job title of Facilities Maintenance Supervisor.
Compressor/Boiler Room Supervisor:
Responsibilities shall include but not be limited to the safe operation and maintenance of HP Compressed air, High Pressure Steam boiler systems and associated auxiliary systems. Included is the administration of the skill matrix for the facility group, employee training distribution and recording, Maintenance Professional to computer generated program and facility site asset
Applicant shall be prepared to support the efforts of the entire facilities team in their mission to provide a safe and healthy working environment for all employees and to our customer. Responsibilities shall include, to promote safe working practices, employee performance, adherence to company policies and procedures, discipline employees in accordance with the current collective bargaining agreement, promotions and demotions within the hourly bargaining unit union represented and to include reductions in force where determined necessary.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Required education: High School/GED & Experience
11 Years with HS
7 Years with AA
5 Years with BS or Apprentice Graduate
Candidates selected for this position are expected to work the time required to accomplish the responsibilities of this position (more than 40 hours including weekends). This position is eligible for Extended Work Time Compensation (EWTC) for hours worked in excess of 45 weekly.
Working knowledge of effective supervisory methods and techniques to protect employees and promote good working practices within the facility department. Employee shall possess skills in planning short term and long term tasks and projects.
Minimum of 11 years Supervisory Experience in facility maintenance field.
Ensure that company goals for Safety, Quality and Productivity are met and or exceeded.
Manage and monitor employees in their daily tasks in an effort to maintain known schedules of facility projects and production side efforts.
Have a working knowledge of all tasks required within this division of the facility group and be able to demonstrate and promote these skills to new and active members of the mechanical and temporary services team.
Proven supervisory skills when under
pressure and during inclement weather be it, wind, snow, flooding and hurricane conditions to protect the facility property.
Plan and manage material flow both incoming and outgoing temporary service materials to support waterfront
production needs.
Plan and manage material and manpower to support facility repairs and new construction projects
Possess good communication skills to promote positive results when working with supervision within the facility
group, sub-contractors and in the company organization.
Manage workforce to adequately support maintenance and production efforts on all shifts
Ensure all within the group adhere to the policies and procedures of the company ISO Program and have a good
understanding of the verbiage contained within the collective bargaining agreement (CBA).
Ability to dispense discipline fairly and equally to employees whereas required and in accordance with the (CBA).
Possess the skills required to promote efficiency within the workforce and promote positive morale
attributes. Encourage the use of new technologies to enable reductions in overhead costs. Be receptive and enable the employee to join management in positive promotion of ideas.
Represent our company in a positive light to our immediate internal customer and in public.
Required Computer skills such as Word, Excel and power point.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $73778 - $125422
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
