BAE Systems is seeking two Medical Technician III / Certified EMTs to support at our Norfolk, Virginia Ship Repair shipyard. In this role as a Medical Technician III / Certified EMT, you will promote overall worker safety. You'll assist in managing work-related injuries and illnesses and return workers to their duties in a caring and efficient manner. A champion for healthy work conditions at the site, you'll support efforts to reduce or eliminate health hazards for employees. Reporting to the Medical Department Lead / Supervisor, you'll be tasked in the maintenance and administration of the company s Occupational Health and Safety program, policies, and procedures ensuring compliance with Occupational and Health and Safety regulations set by Federal OSHA and other agencies including Department of Labor, Department of Transportation, Coast Guard, State agencies, and per various customer requirements. This position will work a combination of 1st shift, 2nd shift and alternating weekends.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Typically requires a High School diploma or the equivalent
Must have current EMT/CPR certification
Able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Biometric Identification System badge
An excellent communicator
Proven interpersonal experience working directly with customers / patients
Computer skills to include MS Office and industry-related software
High level of effectiveness in a changing, fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and make improvements to the function while driving Safety and Health excellence and performance
Collaborative with ability to operate effectively within a highly-matrixed organization
Able to comprehend, interpret, and apply Federal OSHA and local codes
Able to support in a heavy industry, shipyard environment
Able to work 1st and 2nd shift and alternating weekends
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Occupational health background with emphasis in heavy industrial settings.
Emergency medical experience.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $43170 - $69073
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
