Position Summary

The company is seeking a Vice President, Marketing who working with Brasscraft’s Leadership Team, is responsible for the development of the organization’s overall vision and strategy for the Brasscraft brands and its portfolio of products and channels, driving top-line and bottom-line business results. Reporting to the President, the Vice President, Marketing is a key member of the Brasscraft Leadership Team and, with them, assumes ownership of company operating results, Long-Range Strategic Plans, and Annual Operating Plans. Responsibilities also include developing and rationalizing the product roadmap, directing product management, initiating sound brand strategies, leading marketing communication, and developing trade support. The incumbent of the position is also responsible for corporate development, pricing strategy and development of marketing services for Brasscraft’s business segments.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Clearly define marketing priorities and ensure integration with Brasscraft’s Strategy to Win and Leadership Agenda.

  • Directs all aspects of Brasscraft’s marketing discipline to maintain the industry leader position to include, product and brand management; promotional activities, including advertising and communications; program development and implementation; pricing strategy and policies; distribution channel strategies; market research.

  • Develop and lead a highly effective and high-performance marketing team.

  • Monitor market trends and translate consumer attitude and preferences into product and branding direction. Lead market research, including Voice of the Customer, and consumer/trade testing initiatives.

  • Develop product road map and product plan which include product segmentation, product definition, packaging, unique features and benefits, and product positioning and pricing relative to competition.

  • Develop an innovation process and manage the pipeline of innovation to deliver on the value proposition of the brand and meet the needs of the influencer and consumer

  • Assume ownership and management of the Brasscraft brands. Lead marketing initiatives to drive brand awareness and preference for both trade and consumers.

  • Develop and implement both short-term and long-term marketing plans that support each distribution channel, to deliver the total Brasscraft brand value proposition and drive top-line and bottom-line results.

  • Create meaningful and break-through advertising, merchandising, and lead generation strategies – traditional, interactive, digital, and mobile - to both trade and consumer to articulate the unique and compelling benefits and advantages of Brasscraft-branded products and support its value proposition.

  • Create and oversee implementation of all brand communications including messaging and product-specific marketing.

  • Create targeted marketing tools for use by Brasscraft sales people with our trade partners including displays, brochures, and trade / architect materials.

  • Recommend pricing strategies that produce the highest long-term margin and market share.

  • Develop a robust product development pipeline in sync with the Voice of the Customer, the needs of trade and consumer segments, and channel needs.

  • Work with Product Engineering to ensure product development and launch fulfils product requirements and is on time and within budget.

  • Working with Brasscraft’s leadership and Masco’s Corporate Development teams, manage the acquisition funnel for the business unit, including identification, cultivation, negotiation, and due-diligence of potential targets.

  • Develop superior customer and consumer purchase experiences and solutions that enhance Brasscraft’s equity in the marketplace.

  • Analyze market share, brand health, and profits to determine return on marketing investment.

  • Analyzes periodic VOC feedback and utilizes that input to affect marketing strategies.

  • Support strategic sales plans to achieve corporate objectives for products and services.

  • Support customer facing systems that meet the needs of our customers and are best in industry.

  • Integrate overall marketing strategies with location sales and marketing tactics to ensure alignment.

  • Support periodic trade promotion activities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • BS/BA required; MBA in Marketing preferred.

  • 15+ years of experience in marketing and brand management; minimum 5 years of people leadership.

  • Demonstrated success developing and launching innovative products.

  • Demonstrated success driving brand consideration and preference using different marketing vehicles (TV, print, ecommerce, promotions, etc.)

  • Leadership capabilities to work across the organization; ability to work collaboratively with Operations, Sales, Engineering.

  • Proficient at developing integrated, multi-discipline marketing plans through a variety of distribution channels.

  • Driving brands consideration and preference using all elements of marketing (eCommerce, TV, print, social media, promotions, etc.).

  • Proven ability to manage and develop people.

  • Superior oral and written communication skills. Proven presentation, communication, and marketing skills with ability to translate plans into execution, change and adapt, and deliver desired results.

  • Experience managing internal or external advertising / promotions / public relations / on-line agencies or creative services departments.

  • Excellent project management and budgeting skills.

  • Superior learning ability; ability to take on increasing responsibilities.
