The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Service Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. You will have responsibility for developing and supporting service procedures for 3M™ Health Care hardware/software products. As a trusted partner to 3M’s business and engineering teams, you will help to develop service strategies, influence product vision, provide Failure Mode Evaluation and Analysis (FMEA) insights into existing product portfolios, and enable 3M’s next generation of products. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Providing advanced service engineering support, including diagnosing, documenting, and resolving hardware and software issues with integrated 3M Health Care products

  • Developing documentation and training materials for service support

  • Training service providers globally on hardware/software troubleshooting and support

  • Providing project leadership on New Product Introduction (NPI)/commercialization teams to support service readiness for new hardware/software integrated 3M Health Care products

  • Leading the development and implementation of improvements and solutions to support service processes and tools

Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • Three (3) years of hardware/software experience in a private, public, government or military environment in one or more of the following areas: service or technical support, system integration, operating systems, medical device hardware and software applications

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Experience providing hardware or software technical support to customers in a technical and/or engineering role including failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA)

  • Experience developing documentation and training materials for hardware and software service support

  • Experience training with hardware / software troubleshooting and support

  • Experience working on NPI and/or commercialization projects

  • Experience in healthcare, medical technology, or the medical device industry

  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to effectively interface with cross-functional teams and customers

Travel: May include up to10% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
