Area Director of Rooms is a senior level position with responsibilities focused on providing guidance and support to the Hotel Managers. This includes overseeing the general operation of hotel functions and assisting guests when necessary with the opportunity to act as a roving manager to accommodate scheduling.
This is a salaried position ranging from $106,000 - $165,000.

Responsibilities:
Oversees hotel services including Front Desk operations, Housekeeping, Guest Services and Spa.
Maximizes room revenues & occupancy by analyzing daily status rates & makes adjustments accordingly.
Manages large events & ensures high volume occupancy special requirements.
Analyzes rate variances, monitors credit reports & maintains close observation of daily house counts. Conducts weekly Rooms Divisions meetings, including monthly financial review with subordinate managers & senior hotel directors.
Prepares revenue & occupancy forecasting & monitors labor expenses through schedule approval process.
Responsible for short and long term planning and the management of the Rooms operations in the Front and Back of the house
Develop and implement standards and operating procedures Front Office & Housekeeping.
Manage 3 rd Party Valet Agreement for garage profitability, utilization and to ensure luxury levels of service are provided
Lead the Resort as the “Service Champion”. Take a deep level of ownership in all guest experiences and follow-up on service and product defects in real-time
Partner with Director of Commercial Services to action all feedback from online and social portals.
Month end reporting to hotel ownership for the entire Rooms division.
Presenting to ownership/VP of Asset management for monthly P&L review.

Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
6 years or more of progressive hotel Rooms experience (typically with Hyatt) with opening hotels, previous hotel pre-opening experience preferred
Service oriented style with professional presentations skills
Must have exposure and understanding of Forbes Travel Guide Service and Product Standards
Must have exposure in leading rooms team at Forbes Four or Forbes Five Star rated property, preferably a resort destination
Strong Presentation Skills and experience in owner relations
At least 5 years of experience working in luxury hotels.
At least 5 years experience in a senior role in a hotel rooms area
Ability to assimilate operational statistics quickly and see how they can be used to enhance position of property
Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line
Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills
Maintain communications with Corporate Staff
