Director, Product Management: Engagement Communication & Analysis
The Mastercard Office of Engagement for Open Financial Data and Inclusion is focused on positively influencing industry vision, regulation, and standards, to align with Mastercard’s strategic focus and objectives in connection with the development and expansion of its Open Financial Data Network, and the use of this network to further our mission of global financial inclusion.
This will be accomplished through internal engagement with global, regional and country senior leadership, including relevant technical, product, sales organizations, government relations teams, third party advisors/consultants, as well as external engagement with founders and CEO’s of FinTech and financial services organizations, relevant law and policy makers, regulators, central banks, industry groups, and press. The outcome of such engagement will be focused on strategically clearing the path for innovation, development and scaling of Mastercard’s Open Financial Data Network and associated products and services, including the advancement of Mastercard’s financial inclusion efforts.
Research, write, and assist with the creation of standards, policies, and strategies that will enable Mastercard to develop and grow its Open Financial Data Network and further the financial inclusion mission of Mastercard, by capitalizing on the opportunity that Open Banking represents as part of Mastercard’s future growth. This position includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Creation of materials to support engagement with internal teams at Mastercard, aligning on policies and standards related to Mastercard’s Open Financial Data Network.
Creation of communication materials to support engagement with external parties, including but not, limited to law and policy makers, regulators, third party consultants, and key industry groups. The creation of these materials will involve gathering relevant market information and input from industry standards bodies, thought leaders, and government stakeholders and should assist in the creation and adoption of standards associated with the Open Financial Data Network.
-Assist executive team members of the Office of Engagement and Inclusion in the development and publication of testimony’s, presentations, and/or other communications related to Mastercard’s Open Financial Data Network.
-Research and provide meaningful input on relevant industry topics such as privacy, consent, data access, etc., and any other area or topic of discussion as deemed necessary by the OOE executive team.
The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional skill in and experience with:
Exceptional strength in verbal and written communication.
Analytical agility, including ability to think through and clearly articulate complex and nuanced frameworks in/around the areas of data access, consumer consent, data privacy, and data use, as these are applied within the context of Open Banking and the Open Financial Data Network.
-Ability to synthesize complex subject matter into well-structured and thought-provoking publications.
-Energy and passion for continued learning, research, and engagement.
-Educational background in law, writing, and research and analytics.
-Graduate level degree, with experience in a legal field, will be highly useful in this role.
