Job Description
BAE Systems is looking for a Linux Administrator Red Hat to join our team for an exciting opportunity supporting an acquisition program for the Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications System. The successful candidate will provide program and project management support the Strategic Automated Command Control System (SACCS) Acquisition Programs. This program is designed to extend SACCS systems life and transition into the follow-on system, known as Sentinel ICBM System (formerly Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD))
Our team includes existing staff with extensive expertise in the current Minuteman III weapon system and actively participates in ongoing studies and assessments for future systems updates.
Duties will include but not limited to the following:
Able to deploy and set up Red Hat Enterprise Linux on physical or virtual servers.
Able to implement security policies, managing firewalls, and monitoring for potential threats.
Capable to manage and oversee backup procedures to ensure data integrity in case of system failures.
Fully capable to diagnose and resolve system issues related to hardware, software and network connectivity within Linux
Processes skills to monito system health and analyze logs to identify current and future problems
Lead individual projects within the program to include tasking, tracking, and execution based on the overall project schedule.
Uphold system security management (user access, patch management, vulnerability assessment, scanning).
Configuration control and documentation for updates/upgrades.
Interface between project stakeholders (internal and external).
Reporting project status, as requested by government customer.

Attend internal and external meetings as required to cover both business items and customer requirements.
Review and approve all correspondence delivered to customer as deliverable item.
Follow all required processes especially the peer review process to ensure quality of products being delivered.
Accountable to the Program Manager for tasks/assignments.
Shall serve as a focal point for individual tasks and applicable team projects.
Directly support government leadership and maintain strong customer relationships.
Maintain other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
BS in software engineering, computer science, information technologies, data processing with 12 years experience or 10 years with MS degree.
At least 6 years of progressive responsibility in providing technical experience.
Technical leadership of software systems analysis.
Expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system
Strong command-line skills using Bash scripting
Understanding of Linux system administration concepts (file systems, permissions, processes, services)
Network administration knowledge
Experience with system security practices
Proficiency in system configuration, user management, security practices, network administration.
Proficient in Linux troubleshooting, backup and recovery procedures.
Package and File system management.
Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Excellent cognitive, communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills.
Active US DoD Top Secret Security Clearance granted within the last 5 years.
Proficient in Microsoft Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Due to its special-access, classified working environment, this position is only located at Offutt AFB, Nebraska, and is not conducive to telework schedules.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) and/or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
Previous work with DoD, USAF or other military organizations.
Prior supervisory responsibilities.
Experience managing within, or entire, DoD acquisition programs in a Systems Program Office.
General knowledge of requirements management tools.
General knowledge of model-based systems engineering processes.
In-depth knowledge of Linux distributions (Ubuntu, CentOS, Debian, etc.)
Strong understanding of Linux operation systems.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $118504 - $201457

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
