What Product & Solutions Marketing contributes to Cardinal Health

Product Marketing is responsible for defining the product and market strategy including customer need identification, market research, product or service offering, pricing, positioning, promotion, and branding. This is done byassessing customer needs, market conditions and competition to inform business strategy.

This Product Marketing Manager role will have full portfolio ownership of the Cardinal Health Brand Wound Drains, Sterilization Pouches/Wraps, Open Suction and Cardiothoracic categories. This is a diverse portfolio of medical devices used before, during and after surgical procedures to protect the patient from injury and infection as well as promote healing during recovery. This role will be responsible for partnering with the Acute and Non-Acute Sales organizations, understanding sales pipeline, and partnering to move new business opportunities forward. With pipeline and landscape insights, this person will run point on demand planning and detailing monthly financial results and drivers to leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Translates market and customer needs into clearly defined goals, objectives, strategies, and tactics to drive sales & profitability for the business.
  • Accountable for gaining and driving cross functional support from all stakeholders.
  • Stays current on market trends. Determines product/service lifecycle implications and makes recommendations to maintain market competitiveness and to achieve sustainable economic success.
  • Basic knowledge of marketing disciplines and concepts necessary for building a business & marketing plan this includes identifying the appropriate channels to market. Has the ability to understand market trends and competitive positioning and executes on findings.
  • Demonstrates strong financial acumen and logical decision making in the general business environment. Understands and can demonstrate sound thought processes as it relates to pricing, deal structure and assessing financial implications.
  • Support and launch commercial tactics such as collateral development, content management, and tradeshow planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
  • 2+ years’ experience in related field, preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time domestically
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Tenacity and willingness to roll up your sleeves and work quickly.
  • Courage to own decision making in a demanding environment.
  • Ability to operate both independently and as a collaborator in execution of short- and long-term projects.
  • Ability to problem solve and think creatively.
  • Capable of multitasking and prioritization to deliver on business commitments.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Contribute positively to team culture.
