Lockheed Martin EMI Engineer - Sr Staff - Orlando, FL in Orlando, Florida

EMI Engineer to support/review/define EMI aspects of product development. Develop requirements, work implementation designs, and support EMI testing of products to MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-464 requirements. The candidate will apply this support to a variety of programs including Electro Optical targeting and navigation systems, ground and air launched missiles, communications and controls systems, and other programs. This position involves tasks associated with the proposal activity continuing through operational deployment of the selected systems.

Become key interface on all matters related to EMI with program and customer.

Knowledge of MIL-STD 461 requirements, design analysis and test methods for Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) is required.

A good working knowledge of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), Operation in high level RF fields, Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP), Electrostatic Discharge (ESD), Lightning, and Hazards of Electromagnetic Radiation to Ordnance (HERO) is a plus.

The Greater Orlando metropolitan area is the sixth largest metro area in the southeastern United States. The climate here is warm and sunny all year long for the most part. Orlando is home to the University of Central Florida (UCF), Walt Disney World, and SeaWorld. Where can you get to from Orlando? Orlando is about an hour's drive from Cocoa Beach and the "space coast" to include NASA and the Kennedy Space Center. Tampa is about 1 and ¼ hours from Orlando. West Palm Beach is about 2.5 hours to the south and Jacksonville is about 2 hours to the northeast. Atlanta, GA is 6 hours to the northwest.

Basic Qualifications:

Knowledge of MIL-STD 461 and MIL-STD-464 requirements, design analysis and test methods for Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) is required.

Good oral, written communication and presentation skills.

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Physics with a heavy concentration in EMI testing and design with relevant experience.

Active Secret security clearance.

Desired Skills:

Previous Interactions with Joint Program Office (JPO) customer to reach consensus for testing & configuration.

Design of test including shielding and filtering evaluations is essential.

The ability to generate clear, concise test plans, test reports, analysis reports is also essential.
