What You Will Be Doing
As a Software Engineer/AI Research Engineer, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Design, develop, and implement AI/ML algorithms and models to solve complex problems in various domains
• Collaborate with researchers and engineers to identify opportunities for AI/ML applications and develop proof-of-concepts
• Maintain AI/ML systems, including data pipelines, model training, optimization, and deployment
• Conduct research and experiments to evaluate the performance of AI/ML models and identify areas for improvement
• Stay current with the latest advancements in AI/ML, including new algorithms, techniques, and tools
• Communicate research results and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Participate in the development of research proposals, papers, and presentations
• Collaborate with external partners, including academia and industry, to advance AI/ML research and applications

Basic Qualifications:
• Ability to obtain a secret security clearance. Must be a US Citizen.
• 3+ years of experience in AI/ML research and development, with a strong background in machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, and Java
• Experience with AI/ML frameworks and libraries, including TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn
• Excellent software development skills, with experience in version control systems such as Git
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Desired Skills:
• Master's or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Familiarity with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems
• Strong publication record in top-tier AI/ML conferences and journals
• Experience with AI/ML ethics, fairness, and transparency

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
