Lockheed Martin Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) Senior - Orlando, FL in Orlando, Florida

Description: The selected candidate will help the execution of various Quality Assurance projects and support efforts for the AGMS Program.

Under direction will utilize Quality Engineering methods to evaluate and initiate actions to identify and control sources of variation detrimental to quality, cost, and schedule targets.

Scope of responsibility also includes; lead root cause, corrective and preventive action investigations/ decisions/ validations, actions, integration tasks, along with area improvement strategy and planning.

Candidate will assist various management, staff, vendors/suppliers, customers, and partners with initiatives to reengineer processes and methods to ensure compliance to customer contractual requirements and continuous improvement initiatives in the areas of cost, efficiency, quality assurance, and customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate will play a key role in executing initiatives associated with the Quality organization.

Duties will include but are not be limited to:

• Developing program Quality Requirements

• Managing databases and associated key business metrics

• Managing business processes to measure and improve quality performance and update/improve departmental procedures as required.

• Responsible and accountable for delivering effective methods and initiating improvements that will drive and improve overall quality performance.

• Conduct/coordinate process and product evaluations and assessments.

• Conduct Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations

• Review and approve First Article Inspection (FAI) reports

• Support various program process reviews

• Support internal and external audits

• Collaborate with leaders from various functions to assure compliance and continuous improvement.

• Provide local customer interface

• Coach and guide less senior personnel

• Travel may be required

Basic Qualifications:

Technical Engineering degree at the Bachelor level or above

Must have the ability to obtain a security clearance.

A basic understanding of the SAP and Procure to Pay (P2P) business systems

A basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

Basic understanding of engineering requirements

Must be able to identify and document quality deficiencies and ensure effective corrective action

Capable of performing root cause analysis and identifying solutions to complex problems

A sound understanding of special processes and an overall understanding of how to manage and interface with suppliers daily

Ability to focus on continual improvement practices using causal analysis tools to drive corrective and preventive actions

Basic knowledge and understanding of auditing / surveying capabilities

Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment

Must be able to multi-task, meet deadlines, and to support all supplier quality field engineering activities

Effective communication skills (both oral and written) will be necessary to support the assignment and weekly reports

Strong problem-solving skills

Must be able to effectively communicate and interface with Suppliers, Quality Program Management, Engineering, Supplier Quality Management, Sub-contracts (Buyers) and Government Representatives

Must have the ability to travel (less than 15%)

Desired Skills:

A strong understanding of the MFC SAP and P2P business systems

ASQ Certification and/or Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt / Black Belt)

Experience with working with suppliers in a dynamic environment

Experience with performing First Article Inspections to AS9102 requirements

Experience with source inspection and surveillance activities at suppliers

Basic understanding in AS9100 and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems

Demonstrated Leadership, Customer Relationship and Management skills
