Fabrication Inspector performs
in-process/courtesy/quality witness/final inspections on machined parts, electro-mechanical, mechanical, composite, integrated systems and various coatings including chemical conversion coating, military grade primer/paint, powder coat and anodize.
Ascertains functionality in accordance with prescribed company & customer requirements and specifications which may be presented to the customer for certification and acceptance prior to shipment.
Experience working and navigating on a computer to read/understand work instructions.
Experience working in software to capture inspection planning and acceptance.
Utilizes a variety of precision inspection instruments and gages.
Inspects per drawing criteria including critical dimensions to extremely close tolerances (can be as small as millionths), fringes on the interferometer and utilization of optical flats for lens seat flatness.
Upload/scan information for logbook completion.
Requires Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) experience.
Must have the ability to work different shifts (1st/2nd/3rd) at times based on seniority prioritization in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between Lockheed Martin and the UAW.
Must have the ability to work overtime including weekends depending on Business unit needs.
Mechanical Quality inspection.
Engineering/blueprint drawing reading/interpretation.
Precision measurement tools.
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Ability to perform manual measurements.
Experience with aerospace hardware.
Familiar with military specifications.
