JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:
Entergy is currently seeking a site maintenance operator to support our Driver Solar Site reporting to the regional Team Leader. This role will require the technician to report to the site daily to perform inspections and maintenance of the equipment in the solar field. Responsible for performing operating functions which includes monitoring and operating solar plant equipment, is knowledgeable in power systems, troubleshooting equipment, and isolating and safety tagging equipment for maintenance activities. Is familiar with plant environmental procedures and ensure the site operates to those standards. Operate and maintain the site while maintaining a high level of Safety, Reliability, Efficiency and cost.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for performing operating functions which includes monitoring of equipment, understanding power plant systems, and performing routine maintenance. In this role you will perform routine inspections of the site equipment to include inverters, transformers, modules, trackers, weather stations, and soil monitoring stations. You will maintain records and documentation of site activities, visitors, substation work, battery logs, and generator operation. You will coordinate with component manufacturers for troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance. You will perform daily field sweeps to verify tracker systems are functioning properly and replace faulty components. It is your responsibility to ensure site safety for all personnel and equipment. You will perform testing and troubleshooting for electrical and mechanical systems. You will perform inverter inspections and cleaning, filter and fuse replacement, basic troubleshooting, and repair. You will perform scheduled array inspections of the home runs, connectors, modules, and tracker system.
Knowledgeable in and complies to environmental rules and regulations.
Knowledgeable in and follows safety policies, practices and procedures.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Education:
- High school diploma.
Minimum Experience:
Maintenance Operator I - II : 0 - 2 years of experience in an operations or similar field or entry level with a background in Process Technology or Instrumentation.
Maintenance Operator III : 2 - 3 years of experience in an operations or similar field.
Preferred : Experience in electrical, instrumentation and controls or a similar field.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of the elementary principles of mechanical measuring devices, instruments, controls, and regulating devices as used in steam electric plants.
The ability to lift 100 lbs.
The ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
The ability to climb scaffolds, stairs and ladders.
Must be Team Oriented and Self-Motivated.
Must possess the initiative to perform task independently, provide timely and concise feedback upon request.
Possess a winning attitude to achieve Departmental, Plant and Corporate Goals.
Should possess basic computer knowledge to obtain the required skills needed to use the Entergy Fossil Applications Time and Labor (Electronic Timesheet Application) and AIMM (Maintenance Management System).
Knowledge of the elementary principles of mechanical measuring devices, instruments, controls, and regulating devices as used in steam electric plants.
Preferred:
Power plant and/or maintenance experience.
Equipment operation experience.
PV systems or related.
