THE WORK

Lockheed Martin Corporation's Rotary & Mission Systems (RMS) business is searching for an experienced System Engineering professional to join our team. As a member of the team, you will be supporting domestic and foreign military programs. As the lead System Engineer, you will be responsible for the development for the Next Generation Open Mission Services (NOMS) Mission Planning Environment (MPE) for the MH-60R Seahawk Helicopter.

As a Senior Systems Engineer, your tasks may include the following:

• Project lead for a small team of Systems Engineers.

• Work in a collaborative team environment that includes Software Engineering, Program Management, Suppliers, and Customers.

• Perform technical trade studies and support the selection of an optimal design solution.

• Development of a technical recommendation whitepaper.

• Systems design and requirements analysis.

• Lab integration support.

• Workforce planning

• Analyze, document and troubleshooting any resulting problem trouble reports.

• Test automation

• Budget management

• Interact with users and act as a Subject Matter Expert for the MPE.

• Interface with internal and external customers.

• Support customer test events.

WHO YOU ARE

You’re a mid-career Systems Engineer that can lead a team to develop a Course of Action (CoA) for the Next Generation MPE for the US Navy’s MH-60R Helicopter. You’re a person that has excellent communication skills and is comfortable building influential relationships with key stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:

- Minimum of 4 years' total experience in at least one or more of the following disciplines: (Systems engineering, Software engineering or Test engineering).

- Experience producing quality technical documentation (e.g., procedures, test documentation, training materials, design documentation, whitepapers)

- Candidates must have the ability to obtain a DOD security clearance to at least the Secret level.

Desired Skills:

- Experience with Git, JIRA, Confluence, DOORS.

- Familiarity with Object Oriented Programming Languages.

- Experience with Cloud technologies and/or Software Factory.

- Ability to travel occasionally.

- DevSecOps experience.

- Ability to work independently or as a member of a team.

- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).

- Control Account Management experience.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington or Washington DC is $82,200 - $157,500. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $94,500 - $178,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
